For Halo 3, they made Halo 3:ODST, which came with every single H3 map ever.

Can you turn caps lock off please? It comes across as hostile
majority of the developer maps actually arent that great where as the forge maps just…play better not to mention weapons on map

Agreed but it depends how you look at it:
spend more money on a map pack to support a game that you like and add something ‘new’ to the mix
or
spend money on another game
or
spend money on something else in life
everything is about opportunity cost, which will be different for every person
Honestly, i would prefer supporting a game that I enjoy and playing it for the long haul. Not getting a new game every month or every 2-3 months. Lol, I have a hard time finding more than 1-2 games per year that are worth full price…most of the current games being pumped out aren’t much better quality than the 15-20 range SHOULD get you.
But then again, i got halo 4 for 60 from microsoft store and the 20 in store credit, which i just used on microsoft points to get the maps for halo 4…so it’s as though i got the maps for free when you think about it.
We want Forge maps in the playlists though. Why? They are better than the maps on disk. Majestic DLC maps are fine as well as some Castle maps and Ragnarok but eveything else is horrible compared to the maps people make.
> > > I have never played a single map i got from the map pass since they put them in their normal playlist… kind of a waste

> > Same thing Happened on Reach so I wasn’t expecting them to actually make it so we can play for the maps we paid for, there should be an DLC only playlist at least or ask for all Map Packs to be MANDATORY for most of the playlists just like how H3 did, but then we would have a bunch of people crying about having to buy more maps to be able to play the game they paid for just like what happened on H3…
> >
> > DLC in short is a waste of money.

> There is a reason why in Halo 3 you were “forced” to buy DLC for some playlists and that’s because the majority of the population bought the DLC. It was unanimous to put them into matchmaking. With Halo Reach and Halo 4 having unbalanced sandboxes and horrible game design plus many customization options taken off, most did not welcome the new changes and didn’t buy the DLC. In the Halo 3 map packs I for one couldn’t wait for the DLC and always bought them on the day of release. Halo Reach and 4 however, I did not care one bit.
>
> Most Halo 4 DLC maps are especially catered for big team which has never defined Halo in its core gameplay.
That’s a complete and utter lie. Big Team has been a core aspect since the beginning. Vehicle combat was one of the biggest things about the game compared to other games who either were large or small arenas.
That’s what happens when the game only launches with a couple ok 4v4 maps. Halo Reach suffered from the same thing. Halo 5 really needs to launch with AT LEAST 8 smaller maps just in case a few of them are terrible. I don’t understand it… How hard can it be to create a nice symmetrical 4v4 arena style map? The community can obviously create pretty decent maps, why can’t 343? Haven and to an extent Abandon are the only 4v4 launch maps worth playing. 343 is starting to do what Bungie did. Relying on forge maps…
When the game launched, everyone got tired of playing Haven 24/7.
Now that the playlist finally has some variety, you are complaining…
Sure, forge maps should have less weighting. But they also should remain in the playlists they are currently in.
I only like adrift and haven because I can move about the map without getting shot in every direction upon leaving my spawn. I can…tolerate Opus and scythe . I don’t remember the names of the two maps I liked in the Forge playlist(only remember the ones I don’t like so I don’t vote for em)
But:
simplex-cross shot central
Onyx-cross shot central
I want maps like countdown pls, CQC but with opportunities to work angles, not hand out easy positions.
I agree. There’s too many Forge maps in MP, and they can cause some really bad frame-rate. I really don’t want H4 to end up like Reach, where half the map options are Forge maps.
I don’t mind a couple of good Forge maps in War Games, but I just prefer on-disc maps for the most part.
I’m ok with forge maps. It’s not like any of the dlc maps I paid for show up ever so Forge maps are the next best option.
This is what happend to reach aswell i stopped playing it eventully as it just got boring
> I’m playing Infinity Slayer right, and I would really like to play some Heaven or Adrift
Those two maps is all I’d end up playing for two hours because they were the only acceptable maps shipped on the disc. Most of the forge maps are great apart from one or two (Crucifix) as it offers a variety instead of just playing the same two maps because the other ones are awful.
Buying the map pass was the worst thing I have ever bought for my xbox purely because I basically gave them money for nothing. I think I have played the DLC’s in matchmaking about 3 times.
> Buying the map pass was the worst thing I have ever bought for my xbox purely because I basically gave them money for nothing. I think I have played the DLC’s in matchmaking about 3 times.
Did you read the bulletin? They are making a DLC playlist.
I agree. Hardly see the DLC maps so wondering what benefit the map pack has apart from shatter which has become the new ragnarok in BTB.
I also agree that there have been nights were no disc maps come up in options time and time again as well as all three slots only being pro settings.
I’m concerned that H4 is slowly slipping into what made me stop playing REACH: Too many forge maps (I can take a few in the rotation but hardly played anything but forge in infinity slayer the past few weeks), too much tinkering with the play lists (pro and standard slayer mixed which will invariably lead to just a pro list and a regular infinity play list further fragmenting the population) and weapons tinkering. Everyone remember bloom, no bloom, 85% bloom and how it ended up being different in so many playlists in REACH?

A DLC playlist has its own CSR. So many forge maps over and over its so annoying. There is the majestic map pack and it doesn’t come up too often at all in infinity slayer. Just forge maps and forge maps and forge maps.
> I’d prefer to play balanced Forge maps over unbalanced developer maps.

> I’m sure I’m not the only one either.
While I took this stance in Reach, while playing split screen in Halo 4, forge maps are unplayable.
