2017 helmets: need their armors now!

Almost every helmet in the classic helmet pack.

Had unique armor in a prior halo game.

  1. Mark V, EOD, EVA, CQB, recon:
All had armor sets in halo 3.
Simple modified mark 6 gen 1 body.

(Repaint to match original appearances.)

  1. Pilot, EVA, perator, and security:
Had chest and shoulder parts in halo reach.
Maybe add parts to decimator body?

Military police, had nothing.

Here’s what I do:

  • With the Mark V Delta helmet, I wear Mark V Alpha armor. - With the CQB helmet, I wear Dynast armor because it’s supposed to be the successor to CQB. - With the Pilot helmet, I wear Icarus armor because it’s supposed to be for pilots (and also shiny). - With the Military Police helmet, I wear Raider armor because the description mentions it being the armor of choice for Spartans assigned to military police duties or something. - I don’t know about EOD, but I don’t wear it anyway. - For the rest, I just wear their gen2 armor.

It would be so easy to make a few shoulder pieces.
And a few chestplates.

Build them onto mark 6 gen 1.

343 hasn’t given us anything halo 3.
“from” reach armors, emblems, assasination, and skins.
From halo 2 some skins, and a battle riffle.
Halo CE, magnum…
ODST, emblems, and a magnum.
Halo wars, Mark 4 armor.
Halo 3…? None.

I just figured the Mark VI gen1 is the thing from Halo 3. And I’m guessing the reason we got a Halo 2 battle rifle and a Halo 2 beam rifle is because 343 had the models laying around from when they made Halo 2 Anniversary

EOD could use Cyclops armor since it too is the successor to the EOD.

Is that true? I didn’t know that

Yup check the two helmets which contain the tubes/filters on the cheeks.

Mk. V Delta looks a million times better with Noble armor.

Yeah, they both have rebreather things. But I think for an armor to be considered a successor to another armor, we should also consider their in-universe role, and not just their looks.

The reason I think Dynast is the successor to CQB isn’t just because the helmets look similar, but also because the flavor text mentions Dynast’s intended role is for close-quarters fighting, which is also CQB’s role. But I’m not aware of Cyclops having a similar in-universe role to EOD.

That may be true, but I still like to use it with Mark V Alpha armor because I like my armor to match the in-universe role of my helmet. So I generally don’t mix and match. But that’s just my personal preference (with a hint of OCD)

But most of these Reach helmets, if not all, did not have armor counterparts; there would not be much, or anything at all, to work with…

In my experience, Mark V Delta, Recon GEN1, EOD, CQB, and EVA GEN1 work very well with the Mark VI Satrap body. It may not have the all-important space diaper or the corresponding chest and shoulders, it’s probably the nicest Mark VI body as it strikes an even balance between your armor colors and the white accents.

The others are either too plain or smeared with ugly details all over them.

But most of theese helmets.
Either had armor in halo 3, or at least one piece of equipment with the same name in reach.

Accept military police, and pilot.

I would have have liked to seen the body armor as well with these helmets in Halo 5!

For the Mark V Delta helmet the best match would be the Mark V armor from Halo: CE Anniversary. Easily the best looking Mark V in the series.

But the Halo 3 art style differs significantly from Halo Reach; it would look rather odd to match the two imo.

It would be nice

Not sure if it counts, because it was given pre launch.

As one has huge amounts of darkened secondary color, and doesn’t sport the multiplayer markings.

Mark vi gen 1 scarred has bad textures that don’t adjust to lighting.
Parts that are supposed to be black, appear white and gray almost pixelated.

I feel like if you unlock all the armor in the game you earn the original Bungies Master Chief armor.
