To be quite honest, I’m disappointed. Everyone had a lot of hype for this game, some people however didn’t and others were hesitant. My hype went down the drain within the first month. When Halo 3 came out, I no-lifed it. When Reach came out, I no-lifed it. I haven’t been on Halo 4 in at least a week, signed up for the Infinity Challenge and have barely made any progress. My standing? There are just as much if not more faults with this game then Reach.
Halo 4 had 400k players starting out. It tanked faster then Reach with only barely getting up past 100k in less then 2 months. Do I have disappointment in 343? I do and the reason is this. Halo 4 could have been a lot better, it could have been more polished then it currently is. But we have to wait a month for it. And if in a month, the TU breaks more then it fixes. Then what hope or faith am I’m gonna have in a Game Dev that said they were going to bring this franchise back from Reach? What faith is anyone going to have? How this first TU does and how this second TU does will probably be the cutting point of some of the community in regards to buying Halo 5. These two TU’s will make or break the new trilogy.
What about you guys?

agreed
I am not disappointment at all. As someone who’s been playing halo since the start, 4 has renewed my interest in the franchise.
I remember how it took halo 2/bungie 3 months to do anything about stand bye. They admitted that they could not even fix the button glitches.
These title updates will not make or break the franchise. When halo 5 comes out it will sell just as many copies as halo 5, and then black ops 2893573498570 comes out and the population will drop again.
Console gaming in general is in decline, and people complaining about the population never mention that.
Dont believe me? here is a nice little article about it.
Console gaming’s decline
That’s why I typically wait a month after a game’s release to judge buying it if there was no demo or beta.
Now I’m never going to buy Halo 4.
I just hope I can use the same tactic on Injustice: Gods Among Us in 2013 because that game looks great because games from Warner Brothers always do amazing, I’ve bought all their DC Comics themed games since Lego Batman.
Dont forget about Bioshock Infinite! Too bad it got delayed again, at least it’ll be more polished.

Why would you even bring up connection cheating on the first XBL Halo? They had almost no idea what to expect. Also acting like you even got standbyed a lot is just ridiculous. It happened very little. You’re the only person I ever hear complain about button glitches in Halo 2. Everyone loved them once they found out how to do them.
I have enjoyed Halo 4 very much. I thought it sucked that the MJOLNIR mix wasn’t in the soundtrack…until I bought the Halo 4 soundtrack today and listened to “117” (track 12). They did a good job with the music, they could use it in a Halo movie if they ever make one. The game itself looked very beautiful. The way the weapons look and the terrain is a work of art. I think the warthog could have sounded better, maybe they should have recorded the sound of a deisel or a muscle car. I’m pleased with most of the multiplayer, I kinda wish I could still customize my helmet and what not. I like the ordinance and the AA’s, seems like that’s contrary to most people here on the forum.

I think it’s fair to say the person you quoted has very little (if any) experience playing H2 online.
You would play against modders 2 to 1 against standbyers.
I don’t know anything big wrong with this game. Maybe if you actually read the stats release by 343 then you would know that this game was a huge succes. -Yoink!- im tired of reading these horribe posts about kids like you -Yoinking!-. GET A LIFE -Yoink-!

You are making a terrible comparison. H4 is a travesty compared to other Halo games in the series.

Since Halo 4 is the way it is, I’ll will not be purchasing DLC or the future Halo game thanks to 343i. Good job ruining one of the greatest game franchises ever 343i. Way to go.
I think part of the “decline” is that many longtime halo fans are simply…getting older.
More responsibilities, less time to play, less interested than in their youth, etc.
You cant expect people to dedicate their lives to this series.
^^^
Also Black Ops 2, Far Cry 3, new downloadable content for Skyrim. This could also account for part of the drop in population.
