$20 for an armor set is not ridiculous

They are selling people the color brown right now… Also they sold people the same color red twice… Locked it to one core so they could re sell you the same thing for another core.

Than there’s cadet blue, which is free except for Yoroi armor you have to buy cadet blue for Yoroi. They aren’t even that creative with the stuff you can buy.

I’d say hold.off on. Buying stuff I til the next Battlepass. And see if they release a new Armor core and if things transfer over to it or if you have to start over with purchases.

Of so now you know Everytime a new core comes out you gots to out the wallet to deck it out…

But those free items as basic as they may be are really good, hope 343 sees my Spartan 🪨 jgnthw default basic stuff . Probably puts a smile on their faces seeing many of us not engaging with the the store.

Fighting games characters cost millions to make. Not skins. Yet skins in Halo Infinite are sold way at a higher price than any dlc fighting game charater out there. This argument should be enough. 343 overestimatte by a long shot the value of their skins.

When their “Skins” amount to one coder changing a few hex values in a few minutes, they know it’s not worth what they’re charging. Doesn’t stop them from testing the waters and seeing how much greed they can get away with.

You know it’s bad when they test the waters by reselling people the same color again scarlet wake.

So I checked and in Halo 5 we got 48 colors.

In infinite of those 48 two of the three cores had 10 of those 48 available as default colors.

The other 38 are being resold to us bit slowly and mostly locked to one core so they can resell it to you again.

Its pretty messed up but they are probably banking on people being dumb and it seeing that.

We went from 48 default color options to 10 lol.

Didn’t you also get two colors in Halo 5?

Yea you can chose between two colors on Halo 5

About a year ago I was worried that 343 would start to run out of reasonable ideas for cosmetics and we would start getting some really ridiculous stuff. That will likely still happen, but 343 decided to get creative and sell us the same thing multiple times.
You bought a new golf bag? Great! Oh… You didn’t know that all those clubs were only compatible with your old bag? Sorry. I Guess you get to buy all new clubs now while your perfectly good old clubs just have to sit there in a locker, doing nothing.

I Respectfully disagree.

“everyone else was doing it” is not really an excuse I accept. Just because other games charge way more crazy priced doesn’t mean 343 gets a pass for doing “not as bad as others” prices. I think we can be constructive it letting 343 know that we think the prices are too high for some stuff.

Not all of us live off of mum and dad anymore.

terrible take. Im not paying 20 dollars for what shouldve been in the battle pass I already paid for.

I think just saying “Other games like Fortnite and League of Legends do it makes it ok” is not a good excuse at all. Just because one company does something doesn’t mean it is an ethical business model.

My issue is they are charging MORE for a bunch of armor and colors that Halo fans have had in the PAST for paying $60 just for the game. If anything you get way less for your money’s worth if you spend just $60 on cosmetics alone (not counting campaign).

Lets say you spend $60 on Multiplayer cosmetics alone (NOT INCLUDING CAMPAIGN), you don’t get nearly any of the items (especially colors) that you had in past Halo games for the cost of $60. Not only that, but they also lock color customization behind paywalls so you can’t even color the spartan the way you want even if you were stuck on the default armor they give you.

I think it would at least be nice to get the normal Halo colors we got from previous Halo’s if you just bought the Campaign and/or Battle Pass, and just charge extra for new content they come up with so it encourages people to keep spending money on a live service game.

That is what mainly upsets me, that if you spend $60 on Halo now (just on MP not including Campaign), you get less from what you got in ALL HALO GAMES for the past 20 years.

Found the person who gets excited when a company throws in a free “bonus” for spending over a certain amount of money.

Look, sorry to attack you personally, but you’re extremely gullible if this is how you regularly act.

Don’t defend this sshit.

You could spend $2.99 for THREE sets of armor in Halo 4 (Infinity Armor Pack).

You could spend $2.99 for a pack of 10 weapon skins in Halo 4 (Steel Skin Pack)

You could spend $10 for 9 helmets in Halo 5 (Classic Helmet Pack).

This garbage in Infinite is highway robbery lol

I didn’t even know you could buy anything in H4.

Imagine typing this thread up and pressing enter and thinking you would take home a win lol

F2P? What about those who paid full price for the campaign but didnt get a multiplayer component like past halos. Even game pass subscribers will spend a full games worth on that service playing halo infinite. This f2p isnt as free as they are making it out to be.

The battle pass is so bare bones I swear they ripped reach armor pieces out because they didnt have enough time to produce enough content in the store. Replacing thier spot with random xp boosts and swaps.

I use to get a bunch helmets in halo 5 for $10. All in one pack. I used to unlock armor in campaign. Theres no grindable credits to help the lower income players meat the store halfway.

343 is quick to respond to everything but the store. Its here to stay I’m afraid. At least till season 2

Great examples! Seriously, good job. This really highlights what’s so wrong with how they’re handling the monetization.

Its ridiculous because it was originally in the battle pass. They are selling us nostalgia…and I don’t even like this current armor type, but after reading that this stuff from Reach was primarily in the BP prior to launch and then pulled, pisses me off to no end.

I’m not going to tell people not to buy stuff, that’s almost as ridiculous and the people attacking other people for doing so need to go -yoink!- off. But the fact is, we are getting screwed…a lot of this stuff was in the BP…

People are talking about “speaking with your wallets” what we need to do is file a lawsuit.

Bro, other games can justify it because they completely make new skins, these are mediocre permutations.

I don’t even think the campaign is worth $60, and you’re saying a single armor set is worth $25? I think a fair price for the campaign would be $30, maybe $40 for the campaign when co-op comes out. $25 is the price I’d expect to see for a massive expansion to a game, not a single armor set that existed in a prior game. This isn’t some new original design that required paying someone to think up; this was a port or a recreation. The season pass was $10; is the Hazop set really worth more than the content in that? There’s no way you actually think that.
