2 ways to make JIP enjoyable

  1. Mercenary bonus: An XP bonus for your OVERALL rank (not the playlist rank) if you join a game that is x amount of time in progress.

Maybe bigger XP boosts if the team is losing drastically. Also, to be fair, lower the bonus for the win if you join the winning team more than half way through the match and the other team is losing by x amount of points.

  1. Disable join in progress for the game if the losing team is losing by a large amount of points. (i.e. Blue team is stomping the Red team 39-8 in Team Slayer and two reds quit out after they die the next time and nobody can join the game because it would just be wasting their time and giving them an almost certain loss)

Where’s the “neither” option in your poll?

Please, elaborate on why you would not like either of these ideas to be implemented into Halo 4.

Because number 2 is something that should be implemented without any questions asked.

Mainly since both ideas are pointless. Join in progress is an option you can choose when searching for a game. Its intent is to speed up search time and to replace a teammate who quit.

EDIT: Holy crap, am I wrong? I swear, I read somewhere that it was an option…

Now explain to me why anyone would want to join a losing team with no reward. Why? Because most people that quit are on the losing team. So what would most likely happen if you select the JIP option? You’ll join a losing team.

Let me restart entirely since apparently I was mistaken. Apparently it hasn’t been confirmed that it’s an option.

Anyway, if someone wants to quick-join a game, they’d choose JiP (were it to be an option). Frankie has confirmed that a game will be unjoinable based on specific parameters (I’m assuming this means your second idea is already basically implemented).

I apologize for being completely blunt with you. However, I disagree with your first idea. I think the second idea is good enough. (:

Wait… It’s not an option?
GOD -Yoink!- MAN YOU GOT MY HOPES UP!
