2 things that in my opinion ruin grifball are the hammer and its BS lunge, and that crap where someone throws the ball spartan charges and picks it up and flies across the map. anyone else feel the same way?
It doesn’t ruin it for me, but it definitely isnt my favorite version of grifball. Too fast for me.
I can see why people find it frustrating though.
Gravity hammer is too much like the sword now. Really does ruin grifball.
Surely stat padders would be more annoying.
Bad physics is my issue.
My only problem is swords range using smart scope.
I don’t have any issues besides friendly fire.
The complete uselessness of the sword is really annoying considering how often the hammer is gonna outclass it.

Unless you mean intentional team kills, then that is just part of grifball lol.

Grifball is kinda like Rock Paper Scissors. The hammer beats the sword, the sword beats the ball, and the ball beats the hammer. With that in mind, I think the sword is fine.
Yes, and I never liked that about grifball. Friendly fire needs to stay out IMO.
I just think the lunge on the hammer isn’t even characteristic of the hammer, just make it a little more powerful or something but in any other halo it doesn’t do that
I don’t mind any of that. Lag Is what gets me! Fast paced game there can’t be any lag. Players able to swing 4-5 hammer lengths away and kill me Instead of dropping the shield. grrrrrrrrrrr
not the best implementation of grifball, but is still a ton of fun to play.
Hammer lunge, 1 shot with a sword Spartan charge and a broken melee system is why I pretty much quit griffball.
It’s called strategy. And the gravity hammer lunge seems to balance it out with the sword.

I think that the problem with the lunge is that it is so inconsistent. There are times where you will only be able to lunge a foot or two and times where it seems someone has an upgraded hammer. What frustrates me about the lunge is that it works against you more often than not. If a player is lunging then a correctly times hammer swing from the defender allows them to get the kill and survive. A non lunging swing is way faster than a lunging swing so it hits before the lunging player and then allows the non lunger to live.
There are lots of frustrating aspects for this implementation of grifball that has stopped me from playing the playlist.
The biggest issues come from the general ranges of melee lunges for the gravity hammer and energy sword while sprinting, smart scoping and Spartan charging. Melee lunges for an AoE melee weapon (gravity hammer)? That’s the most noob oriented balance I have ever seen, and it makes the weapon so much more preferable to the sword (except for 1v1s that don’t involve sprinting at the target and avoiding friendly fire). Unless you Spartan charge with the sword, you will certainly lose against a gravity hammer assuming you hit each other at the same time (won’t even get a trade). The overall game play makes trading extremely frequent and just ruins my fun for the game.
Some of the glitches present in those maps like instantly dying while sprinting off the lifts (at the start of the match) or being stuck in map geometry are also frustrating to handle. Solving the issues regarding weapon balancing would make this game mode more fun.

Not really. ball easily beats sword.
Team killing definitely needs to be removed though.

Why? You want people bouncing out of maps cuz that’s what happens when you remove it. It’s also something that is part of halo tradition and one of the few games to actually still use it.
i could give actual good reasons why to keep it if you care so.
