- Do you get the set of armor used with that specialization? Because I see people on here saying how they want rouge for the shoulder pads.
- You can only get 1 specialization right? Or can you get a different one for every class? I think that would kind of remove the point of specialization.
Thanks.
- I think after you reach SR-10 for that specialization you get the armor to use in-game.
- I speculate that they come with each load-out because it said that you will only get the Pioneer exp bonus if you use it for the duration and not at the end of the game to get the exp bonus for the whole game. So to answer your question, the specializations are set to each loadout.

Only sort of. You unlock the armour pieces, visor and an emblem as you move up 1-9 in the Spec. you’re enlisted in. Once you get to 10, you unlock the mod. You do not get the mod before hand.

You can go to SR130, SR50 is where you unlock the Specs, 10 levels a piece, 8 different Specs in total.
They fall into Tactical or Support so you can actually equip 2 Specs., as long as they’re not both from the same category.
You can only have one specialization at a time until you unlock them.
So say when you hit SR50 you choose pioneer. You are then lock and can only use Pioneer until you have it unlocked, Pioneer-SR10. Now say you choose wetworks after you finish Pioneer, you can then use Wetworks and Pioneer. Then when you max out Wetworks you can use Wetworsk, Pioneer, and whatever the next one you choose.
After you reach Spartan Rank 50 (SR50) you apparently get to enlist in a Specialization. Each Specialization has ten ranks that will take you as long to complete as SR40-SR50. My impression of all the data is that on day 1 you can use Specializations which have a “trait” , called a mod, attached. The mod is always active. Once you complete a Specialization, you then get a “perk.”
As an example, let’s use the Operator Specialization. The mod for Operator is that any vehicle you use recharges health at a faster rate & plasma pistol bolts disable the vehicles for 2 seconds instead of the usual three (and according to several sources, you have a chance of the plasma bolt not stopping the vehicle at all!). So you can use the Operator Specialization every match from Day 1 until you hit SR50 and get the benefit of the Operator mod. Then you have a choice at SR50 of which Specialization you enlist in. At that point you begin moving through OP1 to OP10, if you choose the Operator Specialization. When you hit OP10, you then get the Operator perk, which just for giggles let’s say it increases the likelihood of not being stopped by a plasma bolt overcharge. So you get to OP10 and now when you drive a vehicle around, plasma bolts are flying at you left and right but none of them stop you. That’s a pretty awesome perk. The trick is that it’s only active when you use that Specialization. So if you finish the Operator Specialization and move onto the Wetwork Specialization, and get in a vehicle you will now be stopped by a plasma bolt no matter what.
So everyone will have a choice of how they play. Maybe I decide that I only ever want to use the Operator Specialization and I never move to the other Specializations to unlock them. If I’m a vehicle driver and that’s what I love to do, then that’s fine. Maybe you decide to open every Specialization. You can then change your Specialization (and hence your role in the game) any time you want. After awhile I’m sure everyone is going to settle into using one or two Specializations. Very few will unlock EVERY Specialization because it sounds like it would be a lot of work (something on the equivalent of twice what it took to get Inheritor in Reach).

Kitten’s point is where I find a bit of fuzziness. I’m unsure if you are actually “locked in” to a particular Specialization. It could be that you choose a Specialization and any match you play where you use that Specialization will then advance that Specialization’s rank. I think you can use other Specializations, it just won’t do anything to your rank then. For instance, let’s say I’ve chosen Operator. I can use Wetwork in a match while I’m OP2, but it won’t advance my Operator rank at all, and it also won’t advance the Wetwork Specialization because you can only have one active Specialization rank at a time. So you are strongly encouraged to use the Specialization you choose until you hit the max and get the perk, but I don’t think you have no other choice.
Honestly I’m guessing and so is everyone else. If I paid good money to use all the Specializations on Day One and then I can’t use ANY until I hit SR50, I’m gonna be super-pissed. And so will about a million other people who are gonna get on here and rip the forum to shreds.

thyReaperMC, my reading of articles makes me think there are two things: a “mod” and a “perk.” Mods are available from the get-go and perks only come after finishing the tens levels in a Specialization. Is that accurate?
