When they say every main halo game going forward will feature split screen, I hope them mean 4 player split screen <.<
And it would be wonderful if they could make the campaign 4 player coop as well. What do you think?
Sounds good, as long as you’re not playing as duplicate Master Chiefs like in Halo CE and 4
I’d like that! I remember 343 mentioned that there will be split screen, but I’m not sure if they mentioned the deal with campaign split screen.
Hopefully it is 2-4 player co-op playable. The couch gaming is really underrated in modern game releases.

Agreed, I really wanna keep playing as blue team in the campaign
they said they were bringing split screen back (about time.)
but why stop at 2 ? why not four ?
My guess is 2 player split screen campaign. No 2 player split screen multiplayer, tho it would be nice. I just don’t see the older xbox consoles handling it. The one x maybe, but Microsoft has limited this new hardware with being tied to the older machines.

Precisely my point. I dont want them to say they are bringing back splitscreen and stopping at 2
I really hope splitscreen isn’t limited to just two people.
4 player co-op would be excellent. However I have a feeling it’s just gonna be two, at least for Infinite. If that engine demo is an example of how they want the game to look, plus the fact that they’re gonna be pushing 4k/60fps I’d be surprised if they could even get 2 player splitscreen working smoothly. Unless they’d opt to lower resolution and frame rate.

gonna concur with this.
I think theyll allow multiplayer split screen compatiblity i dont think theyd limit the functionality of the concept.
I also dont think that its a hardware issue. The consoles including older state hardware are totally capable of handling such a feature especially on microsofts own developer based engines like slipspace. its more of a matter of time, money, and coding issues.
Don’t forget that playing split screen also means you have to have more than one character to play as. In Halo 3, you could play as MC and the Arbiter, in split screen or online. So if the focus is on Chief, then there either needs to be two Chiefs, or two protagonists. I’d like four player split screen and online, if 343 can optimize the Xbox as best they can.
I couldn’t care if we’re playing as four Master Chiefs; Blue Team; the Chief, Arbiter, Buck and Locke; or whoever else. Just give us four-player splitscreen and make it fun. I’m fine with four of the same Spartan model. I don’t get why anyone thinks differently.
Here, consider this… In Halo 3, the second co-op player was the Arbiter. If you played solo, the Arbiter was almost always tagging along (ineffectively). In Halo 5, you play with a squad. When playing solo, the squad are always tagging along, and frankly, they’re quite obnoxious. If you’ve got a squad permanetly trailing behind you, the level design and gameplay needs to be altered to match. I’d rather that not be the case. Drop the squad system altogether. I’m happy with four “Master Chiefs”.
Alternatively, you could have Player 1 play as the Chief, while the other players control their own Spartans from multiplayer and never appear in the cutscenes.
I would prefer 4 players for gatherings so I could play with all my friends at a party. I’ll settle for 2 players though.
