When I play with a second person signed into their account, and we play multiplayer, on some of the maps there is severe lag, sometimes to the point of an unplayable frame rate. Does anyone else have this issue? Thanks.
Everyone who splitscreens has this problem. The Xbox simply cannot handle having to render everything twice (or more) on some of the maps. Downside of MS taking so long to release a new console, the games were going to get ahead of the 360 eventually.
The only way my brother and I have found deal with it is to see if any of the options are playable after we join a lobby. If they aren’t (ie. all Forge, or all Forge + Compelx), we back out and try again. If there is a playable option, we wait to see if you can force the vote onto it. If we can’t, we back out and try again. It’s not exactly a good solution, but I’d rather waste time finding a new match than suffering through the unplayable frame rate.
I know exactly what you are talking about.

I’m wondering if this is somewhat addressable using lower resolution settings for the console? I have played quad player custom maps on my Arcade Xbox 360 with siblings and nephew on a 32" 720P TV and had the Xbox set to 720P resolution. None of us say any noticeable Lag at all. Perhaps if you were to use 720P (1280x720) verus 1080I/P (1920 x 1080), you might get better frame rates?
HTH…
