This means that if you die on the way to (let’s say) 80 points to get a drop, you are reset back to 0 points on the next spawn.
Taking it further
Say you busted your -Yoink- trying to stay alive and get that 80 points, you are relieved and can’t wait to see what you have received. Unfortunately, the great chief has frowned upon you and you receive speed boost/concussion rifle/pulse grenades.
You go:
Fix to this:
There are tiers you can choose from in the loadouts menu:
tier 1 will give you lower powered power weapons (like the concussion rifle) but it will take less points to earn (like 50 or 60).
tier 2 and 3: you get the idea
Another thing they could add: tier 1 could still earn tier 3 weapons but it is highly unlikely (like one out of every 12).
tier 2 could earn lesser weapons or higher weapons
tier 3 could earn lesser weapons
Of course it would be highly unlikely to earn lesser weapons.
2. when an enemy earns a drop, it is either: announced to your entire team or there is a marker saying here is where it dropped/showing what is is
It should be done like some of the MLG pros suggest and just have minor upgrades and let the real power weapons like sniper and rockets be on the map, that way the randomness is balanced and the power weapons will be like previous halos with timers and set spans.

This, but the minor upgrades would be the boosts correct?

Currently several MLG pros including Puckett are working with a system where the drops are rail guns, sticky launchers, or jet pack which they feel take more skill and do not effect the game as much. They also have the heavy weapons like sniper and rockets at fixed spawns on the map. They feel that this eliminates the randomness while keeping the drops and does not negatively effect the flow of the game
