2 Game Modes

343 I have a proposal for you. Create two Wargame modes. Classic Wargames and Wargames. I’ve seen suggestions of adding a classic playlist, but one just won’t suffice. Not to mention, the majority of your maps are designed around sprint so disabling spartan abilities in these arenas will make for very slow game play walking around the stretched out maps.

You made MCC (albeit was shipped broken), therefore you have the capability of creating multiple MP modes. Just make sure if you do so, that everything works correctly and isn’t shipped broken. Take your time if you have to. No rush needed, we just want a working product in the end.

What I’m proposing will take a little more work than you’ve already done for H5 but would surely please our very polarized community.

Create mirrored playlists. So, you would have all your playlists with the original H5 game play under the wargames mode, and then you would have ALL those same playlists available to the players BUT without spartan abilities. Like stated before this won’t work currently since your maps are designed with the new gameplay in mind, but what it you created TWO versions of each map? One to cater for the wargames playlist then a reduced-in-size counterpart to complement the wargames classic mode?

Right then and there you please both sides in one fell swoop.

Wargames

  • Slayer- Rumble Pit- CTF- Breakout- Strongholds- Snipers- Swat- Slayer Pro- BTB- etcWargames Classic (no abilities, and with scaled down version of maps, possibly up base movement to 120%, lower TTK, no kill cam, etc etc)
  • Slayer- Rumble Pit- CTF- Breakout- Strongholds- Snipers- Swat- Slayer Pro- BTB- etcThe only flaw I find with this is that it will set a precedent that all Halo games after this will need to always implement two MP game modes in order to be successful, possibly keeping the Community split.

I don’t know. Just throwing a suggestion out there for you. What do you folks think?

  1. The MMC’s multiple game modes were made over the past decade. Its unreasonable to expect that 343 should try to emulate that effort within a single game (even if you aren’t expecting as much content, the effort of balancing two distinct games in one is unlikely to give either their due.)

  2. The argument for “more classic” is undermined by the fact that we have accessible classics on the platform already. If you want to try to create a “fair” situation between those who want more and those who want less, it would be unfair to ask that the equivalent “more” product also be designed to satisfy the “less” camp. They have their game, now let others have theirs.

Trust me, I agree with you wholeheartedly, I just see no other solution to keep the fan base in tact. In the end, I just want H5 to be the best it can be. I really enjoyed the beta but many did not. This could or could not be a potential solution.
