My buddy was telling me that he watched a video on Halo 4 where one of the developers said there are 2 dmrs. one that zooms in 1 time and another that zooms in 3 times. I don’t really believe this, he most likely was drunk when he watched the vid.

There is no word on 2 DMRs.
if you think he might be drunk he probably was.
he probably confused zoom 3 times for 3 shot burst and that is the Battle rifle, or confused the light rifle with the DMR.
He could be referring to the Light Rifle that acts like the DMR when zoomed
Or mistaking the BR for the DMR…
Or one of the skins…
