2 Discs explained by Frankie

Sorry if someone already posted about this.

Here’s the interview (skip to 16:33)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hztcy8xmTh0&feature=colike

So it’s Campaign on disc 1 and Multiplayer on disc 2.
However, disc 2 is installed on the HDD (Which is why you need those 8 GB for Multiplayer).
Then, you only use disc 1 to launch all contents in the game.

This is a similar system to what is used in Forza Motorsport 4.

Was kinda obvious =P

can you still install disk 1?

The overall interview is quite worth listening to.

Sweet, works for me.

Great post! This is news to me so I found it very useful.

> can you still install disk 1?

of course … like any other game but you’ll need the disc

anyway thanks for the confirmation that’s a one thing I was worried about if they would follow the battlen00bs way not the great Forza way

Could you also play multiplayer off of disc 2 without installing?

It seems like they’d lose some customers without that option.

no . were where you when Frankie said we’ll have to save 8gb for multiplayer content ???

it’s one of Halo 4 requirements if you don’t have it then you can’t play war games / Spartan ops

so can i play multiplayer on disc 2 after i install it and campaign on disc 1 or do i have to get to multiplayer and campaign on disc 1.

The main menu looks pretty cool xD.

Thanks for this!

Really glad they went the install route.

Well this is good news! I thought I was going to have to switch between to discs, that could’ve gotten annoying.

I’m happy with it. it just means more content.

Here’s my question: Can I play the campaign without having to install anything? My current hard-drive is broken, but I do have a memory card. Can I still play campaign without an HDD? Or is it necessary to install the second disc in-order to play anything?

but why did he say in another interview that disc 1 was campaign and disc 2 was multiplayer he didn’t say anything about downloading it. and if someone can answer my previous question that would be nice.

“the campaign just fits on one disk.” i am assuming that includes spartan ops content. so it adds up to over 9GB, not bad.

yes only for campaign

so does this mean i can not access multiplayer from disc 2? i hope this is true cause if it isn’t that might be a problem. I would really like an answer for this question.
