2 days folks. We just need to go 2 days without 343i shutting the game down due to overwhelming backlash.
The population isn’t going to last long after the official release. Even the die hards will get bored of playing the same couple game modes on the same few maps soon enough. Since everything else is pay walled there won’t be much player investment to keep players around either. It’s never been so easy to completely drop a Halo game.
I didn’t realise the Halo fanbase was that fickle.
It’s amazing Halo 3 didn’t die on arrival with only 10 maps for the first 3 months.
I’m just going off of what I’ve read in other posts. I dropped the game after seeing the cash shop, and seeing that the weapon pool is still sub par. Most of the weapons do not feel good to use.
With how the game is incentivizing grinding, people are going to burn themselves out and they already are. There’s already been a number of posts with people complaining about it. Halo 3 wasn’t built to wear you down, so that you open your wallet to progress.
Halo 3 stopped your progression if your skill level wasn’t high enough, Halo 3 stopped you playing fan favourite playlists unless you paid for their dlc maps, Halo 3 punished your progression for quitting, Halo 3 had you buy a separate game to unlock their most coveted armour.
Um, Halo 3 also had forge, working custom games, and a working theater.
So I’m not sure your statement holds much weight.
“Halo 3 IS TERRIBLE EVERYONE!” Lmao.
I already stopped playing as it has gotten really repetitive and the progression and store actively killing motivation. I don’t even have anyone on my friends list playing anymore for the same reasons.
We are not “that fickle” it’s called having standards. Halo 3 by far had a better suite of modes and content so this comparison and what about isms you keep doing is hilarious.
i have to wait till my birthday on the 13th so it is more of 7 days
I’m just saying rose tinted glasses, this game will have the best forge going in 6 months and the custom games have bots. They definitely need fixing though.
I’ve played 10,000+ games of Halo 3. It’s one of my favourite games of all time.
A great forge means nothing without a population to use it.
Of course, there will be a niche that stays after the hype dies down but to compare to the gold standard, H3 had over a million people online at launch and sustained high numbers well after.
Infinite hit less than half of that at launch and has been steadily decling roughly 10k per day.
Arguably, the market is much different than it used to be but I think that makes it even more important to put out a FULL game as opposed to this half-baked.
What better way to stand out I’m a sea of half-baked games than to put out a fully polished one. By the time Infinite catches up, there will be even more options for people to call home.
Forge and customs got an additional delay I thought?
Halo 3 had all that AT LAUNCH. It’s progression system stops you? The xp system in that I believe only led to 1 or 2 armors, the rest were unlocked with gameplay.
We don’t know Xbox numbers, that’s steam only.
But yeah the market has changed radically, Halo 3 had next to no competition. Now there are so many high quality games, both multiplayer and single player, crossplatform and free to play. It’s insanely difficult for a paid game to have any sort of success and very few have managed to do it.
Halo was dying, it needed this. Yeah forge would be nice now and a custom game browser. But this is the most ambitious halo ever so I guess there’s some issues. It sounds like this forge is gonna let us make our own halo missions… Wow.
You underestimate my die-hardness.
