1v1 Playlist???

I was thinking, a 1v1 playlist would be AWESOME, and alot of competitive people would have interest in it. Would it ever be possible to do this in halo? If so do you think it has a possibility of being in H4?

It’s a good idea, but I don’t think it would be very successful. Rather than making 343i go to all the effort to put another playlist in, just invite a friend to customs and 1v1 there.

Well, you can always do this in custom games. As for matchmaking in Reach, unless they created a forge map made for 1v1, i don’t think it would be too popular as even the small maps on Reach would play slow in 1v1.

I’d gladly play some 1v1’s.

Yep i wanted to see 1v1 aswell. You could show off your skills by killing the enemy without teammates bothering you.

Twould be interesting, certainly.

I think, however, that they should just add a random player name idea for players who are on (and want to be seeken), and that way you can invite them to customs for a 1v1.

i think that would work much better overall.

They had it. It failed. They removed it. And that’s why they didn’t add one in Reach.

I think a 1v1 playlist would be cool, but like everyone else is saying, I’m not sure how popular it would be.

Man I’d love a 1v1 playlist. I feel like that would help improve player skill a lot more than large group battles.

Plus it would eliminate the worry of credit leechers.

There would be too many quitters, or if they allow party people will just boost on it.

It could only possibly work as one other person said if there were maps created suited to 1v1’s.

Halo 2 had a 1v1 playlist it Failed

Halo 3 had a 1v1 playlist it Failed

If Reach had a 1v1 playlist it would likely Fail

Sorry I vote No besides Reach is 99% over Halo 4 is right around the corner .

Nah. 1v1 is really stupid. then people will just sign in a guest and get free kills. i hate it when people ask to 1v1 me when I already kicked their -Yoink- in matchmaking. halo is a team game. rumble pit is 1v7. 1v1 doesn’t show your overall true skill. only your 1 on 1 skill. and since I play mostly matchmaking(which consists of team games and 1 free for all playlist), I will obviously do bad. you know, since I am used to multiple people. so 1v1 is overall limited in halo. that is my point of view

It failed in the pass just due to no one was interested. If they want to have it then they should go for it.

1v1s are best left to custom games.

> Both times it was removed due to people using it purely for boosting, not its under popularity.

> Bringing it back in Reach would once again, just encourage boosting.

Was it ranked back in H2? I can’t even remember
If it wasn’t then what exactly would people boost for?

As to the second part, keep the credits lower than the rest of the other playlist (but enough to attract people) and keep it unranked.

People already have firefight to boost for credits anyways. I don’t see a problem with it coming back to Reach.

That’s when you don’t allow guests/parties into the playlist

Someone messaging you to prove your skill in a 1v1 match is not the same as a 1v1 playlist.

Obviously if someone messages you to play a 1v1 the end results mean nothing. There are many factors in a 4v4 or 1v7 match.
But that doesn’t mean that a 1v1 playlist isn’t beneficial.

1v1’s aren’t exactly rare in matchmaking, but they do pop up from time to time. Taking time to play a 1v1 playlist every once in awhile will help you see how a lot of people react in those types of situations and help you react in those types of situations. It will help you gain the upper hand.
Octagon specifically can help you with fast paced combat and how to defend against multiple opponents in a very short amount of time (even though its only 1 person).

Bito said its better left to custom games. If custom games were still relevant, I would agree, but the majority of the population gets its experience from MM and spend the majority of their time in MM.

And as the above said. Limit the playlist to 1 person.

I like how I get a request for a 1v1 the second I post in this topic and the guy’s got a 130 gamerscore but the game ends 15-1.
Real nice bait n’ switch.
There’s a playlist for people like you, whoever you are. It’s called MLG and it’s a lot more fun than spawn killing.
