I believe 1v1 is the hardest playmode to balance. Seems that Ensemble Studios has failed to make others than those 2 viable alternatives. Sadly there is now more TUs coming… I think. O.o

noooooooooo. the game right now is the most balanced it’s ever been. the only problems across all the game types are; grizzlies suck and are a waste of a unit, scarabs suck and are a waste of 3000 resources and the 2 minutes it takes to build and the PoR is at a disadvantage on some 2’s maps and all 3’s maps(maybe except exile).

I think the game would be a whole lot different if they nerfed the arby, maybe double unsc would be more popular since hogs would get even more viable when there is no arby ( or a less powerful one). Making grizzlies better would change the game a lot and make it more interesting aswell.
I am more of a forge player, and a lot of times I don’t even upgrade to grizzlies (unless other team is turtling). I would rather build hornets instead of upgrading to grizzlies.

I’m at 43 right now on the 1s and Anders is all about the micro and base acquisition with Gauss vs covie and all about getting into tanks in a Mirror very early and/or against another UNSC. I played against TSP Electronix in an anders mirror - dude outplayed me constantly - but we are 1 and 1 against each other. So much fun!
I’ve never played 1s before but now I actually have the skill to somewhat hold my own. Just need to get better with Anders and learn how to quickly move into tanks effectively while constantly putting pressure on the opposition.
I have come to terms that Cutter is probably the most difficult to play as in 1s. Props to all who do it effectively - but Anders/Brute are the characters built for 1s. I now understand why EVERYONE used to play Anders in 1s. Gremlins at tech 1 would be RIDICULOUS!

I think that Anders is more likely to win in 1s vs. a brute - but you have to play it perfectly in order to win it. You need to be able to micro like a god to get brutes off your base in the initial rush and be able to clear and build secondary bases effectively.
If you can’t do that - Anders loses. Brute choppers though wreck early warthogs. But when you get gauss - the power role changes again. It’s crazy to figure out all of the super big weaknesses in 1s. I never really noticed how deadly units are until I started playing 1s. But however - tanks are still god, unless anders rolls in with a cryo and some gremlins!

Double unsc isn’t less popular because of the threat of their hogs getting raged down, it’s the threat of their expansions getting raged down.

That was the only game I won. Got spanked the next 3 games. 2 brutes and 1 arby. DOMINATED me as Anders. Chasms for arby and brute and release for another brute. Just got spanked all 3.
Anyone want to skrim to help me get better as Anders?

Sounds good - but I’m looking for people who are pre-reset 38+ in 1s. I want to learn the right way of playing 1s. I will probably learn from DC Roflcopter or if I can go up against Kihz, Limitz, Tx Xfactor, DC Sparta, OncomingBus, or any of those guys. I know limitz pretty well and played against sparta and bus a number of times. Dallas (roflcopter) is awesome at 1s so seeing as he always wants to skrim me it would be a decent thing to play against him and learn as he was taught by Xfactor how to play 1s originally.
