I believe we as a community should start looking into the idea of pushing towards 1v1 tournaments monthly maybe a week before the release of new patches/leaders since hopefully spectator mode will be a thing in the near future. This game has a good chance of having a solid competitive following thanks to the hard work from Creative Assembly and 343 with new leaders and constant minor changes of the meta and also the very friendly and positive community following/supporting the game. I do believe future balance changes need to be larger then ones in the past to constantly change up the unit meta and keep the game interesting to watch and play but so far it feels great. Some people might think this game isn’t balanced enough yet for competitive tournaments but it really is in a good spot surprisingly at high tier play. Ive decided to bring this topic up now because cash prize tournaments help MASSIVELY with growing a player base and keeping games highly competitive. The reason why MOBAS are so popular years after release is because of the massive amount of action going on from minute zero till the end of the game (which is what halo wars 2 does so much better then other RTS games) and the creativity from the developers to make a game feel completely different from just balance changes. Halo Wars 2 is both simpler to start playing then a MOBA yet feels almost as hard to master. Thankyou to the people who have already attempted /have plans for what I just discussed and thankyou to the developers for going above and beyond with this new addition to the competitive RTS world. I recall you talking about streaming games all day when observer mode comes out. I know people do skirmish 2v2 and have 1 person resign on each side to act as a temporary observer mode…but then its a 2v2 map for a 1v1.
