1st time idled - and BANNED!

Today, I was in a matchmaking game and got an important phone call. It was the first time I have ever went idle in a game…and I was banned! Why would they ban someone for the first time they went idle? I’ve also only ever quit out of a game once.

How do I contact 343 about this? There’s no “Contact us” link to be found anywhere…

Bans are automated so there are no appeals.

If it’s your first offense, your ban should be brief.

I believe the Banhammer message said I was banned until 8:59, which means approximately a 4-hour ban. However, after reading your message, I went back and checked, and the ban appears to be over. I guess that was 8 minutes 59 seconds, instead of 8:59 pm.

Thank you for your response!

I played a few games of that rocket weekend stuff with some friends. One off the guys accidentally managed to jump in front of me 3 times and I got 3 betrayals. On that 3rd betrayal I got a instant boot and a 10min timeout…Very minor but kinda funny

I noted that they left bans in place. Penalizing players for betrayals and suicides in a goofy rocket game type makes no sense to me.

They need to take a lot more care when designing and implementing playlists.

Their ban system is beyond retarded. Every single play list says that bans are in effect for quitting, ect., but you can play games like Warzone and new players can cycle in and out of games. Why get banned if there’s a replacement for you in a game type that isn’t ranked? I get getting banned in Arena, but the ban rules are far too stiff and the ranking system is a joke.
