I love halo and a big part of the game for me is driving. I love racing games and 1st person driving is great in the games and i was thinking what better place for first person driving then a first person shooter. Do you think first person driving would be a good addition to halo 4
Well obviously it’d be great if you had the choice between then two, I mean who the hell wouldn’t want more options…(?)
But if I had to choose between the two, it’d b a tough choice, I mean I would love th idea of literally being put behind the Wheel of the trusty 'Hog…but, I’m pretty sure I’d be a horrible driver without my surroundings be on display with the trusty third person perspective…

First of all, there’s a quite a few posts already about this subject. But without trying to make you feel bad for this post, im gonna answer like a gentleman.
I dont see it happen, Halo has always been 3rd person driving, and most likely will be. Have you thought of aircrafts? Banshees? How the yoink you would pilot that in 1st person mode? However, I dont wouldnt mind seeing this. Doesnt matter much to me as far as I can see well.

so long as the vehicles are as sturdy as they were in H3 and there was a good view system and controle 1st person driving would be great so long as it was done well.
but we cant expect innovation like this. its much easier to just copy COD, so hence sprint, recoil, and perks. so yeh i wish too but i doubt 1st person would be happening
I think it would be interesting to see how it would work for Banshees, but I’ve always thought it’d be cool to be able to see the dash of a Ghost, and for all of the other vehicles it wouldn’t be too complicated.
i think it’d be kind of fun for a little bit, but it would ultimately ruin the cohesive driving combat experience. people would be far less aware and instead of amazing stunts, quick saves and -Yoink!- drift splatters you would have a bunch of mindless idiots running into things and getting destroyed by any average joe with a grenade. And as the man above me said, flying would be hell.
well apparently he is now way above me but still, it would no longer be fun

What is everyone’s fascination with 1st person driving? I mean, I honestly don’t see it happening in any Halo game. 3rd person driving has always been in Halo and it actually helps out a lot when knowing your surroundings.
I think it would get very frustrating when you’re driving in 1st person, say you’re playing matchmaking, you get in the warthog, switches to 1st person, and you make your way to the enemy base, then you drive past an enemy tank without you realizing it because you didn’t see it in your FOV. Thus, causing you to blow up out of nowhere and getting frustrated with the mechanic.

It would be cool, but I feel as if it’s useful to see it in 3rd person especially on a warthog since that is pretty much the only way of actually telling where the enemies are. So no, I’d rather take function over flash, even though theoretically it would be kind of nice.
Only if it was toggleable in the gametype controls and by default, it was 3rd person, keep it as a custom game exclusive.

I don’t like the idea of first person because it limits your field of vision, but to be fair 343 can easily just mount the camera in front of the banshee and claim it’s first person.
aircraft yes ground vehicles no. It would be too disorienting to keep a steady speed while maintaining your field of view. Imagine driving a warthog in blood gulch. You drive over a big hill while dodging fire and because the hood is pointed to the sky you cant see a scorpion with its cannon pointed right at you. That split second of seeing it before you went skyward could have saved your life.
Nah just keep it classy.
I don’ know about first person driving, but first person passenger would afrikinmazing. Have you guys seen what that was like in Halo CE:Anniversary? IT WAS SICK!!!
