19 years of Halo multiplayer and for the first time I do not like Halo. It really is depressing to me

It is amazing to me. Gamers don’t play games anymore. Publishers have successfully manipulated them psychologically so that instead of playing games, they play progression metagames. The game itself is nothing more than a tool to get players to play the “real” game, which is essentially just a storefront. And it’s so effective that if the storefront is bad (Halo Infinite), people declare the game itself bad.

Nobody is saying the game is bad, what are you smoking. The gameplay is solid, there are issues but the game itself is great, but marred with issues that people are being vocal about, why do you insist that we are 343s lapdogs waiting for the next piece of armour dlc to drop because thats all we care about? We want satisfying progression through the game, because eventually pure gameplay gets stale and we move on, we want to be rewarded for our gameplay and time since companys are treating games as investments more then finished products

This is an interesting argument to make in a thread where the topic is “for the first time in 19 years I don’t like Halo because of the battlepass”.

Thats his opinion, many others do not share this sentiment, small minded of you to believe because people are posting here that they share 100% of the opinion of the OP
Furthermore, what about OPs statement has anything to do with gameplay, he never stated the game sucked, but that because of predatory marketing he cannot stand to play the game

I once again ask, what do you gain from discussing here? If this thread isnt for you, why are you here?

It’s interesting that you seem to have a problem my description of the current player dynamic, when the two biggest threads on the forum are currently “EXP earning is way too slow” and “The progression system will kill the game before it even launches” and we’re in a thread where OP demonstrates precisely the dynamic I described. There are many players making a lot of noise that this game is bad/unfun/dead because they can’t play a fun storefront metagame.

There are plenty of people making a lot of noise that the game is bad because its storefront is bad, expressing exactly the dynamic described previously. Obviously that’s not everyone, and obviously there are plenty of people who are able to both criticize the battlepass and enjoy the game.

But the dynamic going on here is… interesting.

You keep chalking this up to people not getting the egoodys they want, its about content thats been free being locked behind paywalls for no other reason then microsoft hopping on yet another industry trend trying to cash in on the billions that apex and cod make. The noise is justified, this IS scummy and everyone knows it, and so does 343, the more noise the quicker its addressed and the sooner everyone shuts up about it and just goes back to playing the game.
Yes people want to be rewarded
Yes games are no longer just about gameplay
Yes, people like to look cool
Its the human condition, we like to express ourselves through whatever medium we get

Just wanna have pink and blue cotten candy colours like ive had since halo 2, and i dont want to pay for it. Im glad the community shares this sentiment

This halo needs a fix on the aim it feels a bit weird. Ranking system full unbalanced. we teaming with bad peoples with 2 kilss and 25 death wtf and we Match onyx as Diamond 1!!!
