I just got Reach again, going after the online achievements and max rank. But as I go to get offline, I notice there is only 17 players online? Is this a miss estimate or the state of the game? I literally heard the other day there was 5k users at any given time?
What you are reporting could be the population of a certain playlist you’re hovering over or maybe the population counter is broken again.

I believe it is broken, since the population counter wasn’t even there today. I was playing SWAT, but it wasn’t a low count and it wasn’t hard to find a game. Oh well, if the population is actually there, the counter is just wonky, I am fine with that.

nah man this 17 population on halo reach is not true its random number and does not tell exact number 343i removed the population tracker for all halo game (idk y) but halo reach population is quite healthy so 17 players online is not true!

It’s probaly just another bug that’s popped up. Seems that this is happening a bit more ofetn with the population counter. The Invasion playlist for me once said zero players, yet I still got into a game. I would say just ignore it and try the playlist.
It got stuck on 17 after the servers went down recently I think. Way more players than that like the others are saying. I’ve found matches on it much quicker than I have on MCC lately.

This…right here. The number of players shown isn’t all that correct. I’ve had it say 0 before and I was able to play several matches with full player rosters. I don’t know the exacts but from what people say, there are still several thousand players that still play Reach.
I was able to play yesterday despite it saying 0 players online albeit quickly as well. That being said, I agree with the notion that the pop. counter is broken since the switch to 343i.
The game has a fabulous population for a seven year old but Microsoft and Bungie have basically given up on halo reach by all my knowledge. Just look at all the modded game modes, gamertags, matchmade games and maps
