152 reward after launch?

I’ve been playing Halo 5 for 4 years now and I’m only just about to hit SR146. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on legendary xp boost packs and I’m currently on my last few. The grind is really starting to get tiring and I just don’t think I’ll be able to hit SR152 before INFINITE’s release.
Does anybody know if you have to reach SR152 before INFINITE comes out in order to get the reward? Thanks.

Dedication, time and a pulse.

Also from observation the current method is to spam BTB/WZ

“Hundreds of dollars on boost packs.” The real motivation for 343i publicly announcing a reward for reaching 152 in H5 becomes empirically clear.

EDIT: wording.

lol, half my fault for actually shelling out the money, although I admit I only did it for the reward.
Anyway’s, does anybody know if I can get the reward after Infinite releases? Was it ever specified?

Nothing’s been said yet, but they DID say that it’s not going to be a flaming helmet, unqiue armor like Achilles, etc but a “token”. So I’d expect little more than an emblem or (if they return) a Nameplate and that it wasn’t going to be totally worth grinding for if you weren’t already close to 152 to begin with.

And yet, I still see people theorizing that it’s going to be a wicked-cool exclusive armor or something despite official word being it’s a minor thing and nothing major

It’d be pretty funny if it was actually a “token” that you could display on your in-game profile or something. But if nothing’s been said on whether you have to earn it before the game releases then I’ll just have to grind and hope lol

I don’t think it will be locked. I’m taking my time to get it after release. Also if you think 146 is a grind, you need 1,050,000 XP roughly to get to 146, 2,000,000 to get to 147, 3,000,000 to get to 148, 4,000,000 to get to 149, 6,000,000 to get to 150, 11,000,000 to get to 151, and 15,000,000 to get to 152. These are all from the previous level.

You have roughly around 9,000,000 in total out of 50,000,000, just so you know. Also don’t spend ‘hundreds of dollars’ on these systems as it makes them want to bring them back.

Thanks for the info, looks like the grind will be long. As for the xp boosts, I’ve cut myself off as I was spending way too much and seeing no return. I don’t mind paying for extra things but this level system really is horrendous, like how can you play for almost 5 years and spend so much money yet still not be max rank?

42,050,000 to be exact which is much closer to 40 mil tbh. But splitting hairs aside it is still doable op. I just hit 149 about 2 weeks ago and I’m at about 8% of the way to 150. Legendary boosts are great but stop feeding :dragon: Microsoft :dragon: your paycheck. Warzone is a great way to get there but honestly all I have done is spammed super fiesta the games can go quite quick and while they are less xp you can do several in a short period allowing for more xp to be earned also if you are not in a Spartan company you are missing free xp from their commendations.

Thanks I’ll try that out. I’ve also found Breakout/Extermination to be pretty fast as well, usually lasting around 4-8 minutes.

Just curioushcurious what kind of xp is that giving you on average?
I love when I get speed flag on colosseum like no joke you can do that in under 2 min.
Good luck op. I doubt they will close the reward after release.

If it’s a win and you use a legendary xp boost then you get 6-7k xp. I still have a couple boost’s for arena so I haven’t played without one, but I think you get around 1-2k xp without a boost. Hope this helped.

Why’s the grind so huge? My best guess is out of a misguided attempt at addressing the complaints about how absurdly fast you could max rank in Halo 4 - even without the perk that boosts your EXP gain. So they went from “Too easy” to “Way too hard”. Here’s to Infinite finding a good middle ground I hope!

I don’t know why you’re even bothering. At most it’s just going to be some type of emblem or nameplate or something like this. They have already said it’s not going to be anything crazy. They’re not going to give out some kind of special skin or armor or something because people would be up in arms just like people were in Halo 5 with the whole People who got that armor who beat the MCC on legendary (which personally I have no problem with and thought it was kind of a cool idea)

I wouldn’t worry about it at all, but that’s me. Playing video games should not feel like work. As soon as it feels like a job or you’re getting annoyed with something, you should immediately stop it and play something else or maybe even do something else.

I sort of agree, but I’m not just doing this for the reward.
For me, accomplishing something extremely hard in a game is when I feel the happiest, like completing the campaigns on Legendary. And something that makes me even happier is when I have something to show for it, like an achievement, or in this case whatever the Infinite reward is. I know the grind won’t always be fun but the outcome and sense of accomplishment is what makes it worth it imo, for both the campaigns and spartan rank.

Try under 1 minute with a coordinated team.

Well, I understand that but how is it extremely hard? You literally just play. You could be absolutely garbage, get last every game and you can still get it lol :joy:

I understand the accomplish part and I do that stuff if it’s a hard challenge and I like the game lol but just grinding stuff to me is zero challenge and won’t do it anymore. I have the attitude of If I get it I get it if I don’t I don’t. I just play the game…but again, this is just me :upside_down_face:

Anyways, good luck if you continue to do it but honestly, if it feels like work, do something or play, something else. Life is too short bud :+1:

The higher the cap the more somebody can distinguish themselves. In my opinion, most players will not and should not reach max rank. Once the majority of people hit the max, the EXP ranking system no longer serves a purpose (and people stop playing).

I’m guessing that 343 scaled it to last five years and they succeeded; plenty of people are still playing the game with the intention of reaching max rank.

I just see it as a different kind of hard. Like sure you can be really bad and still achieve max rank but it would still take a lot of dedication, which I see as “hard”.
Even if I lost every game, it would still take me a little bit of effort to do so, and it would take me even more to keep on losing for years and years. It’s not the same kind of “hard” as completing campaigns but I think sticking to something or keeping at something over and over again is it’s own kind of hard.
Thats just my opinion though and I see where you’re coming from.

Ikr, I hate req packs
