So people are still able to unlock watchdog for reaching 152? What was this whole grind for then? What was the rush for xp boosts for? This is ridiculous, the last day we should’ve been able to unlock Watchdog was the 8th, when the game officially launched. Now everyone’s gonna play H5 just for the coating, even people who had never touched the game prior. Doesn’t sound like a legacy reward to me anymore, just a little cash grab before H5 dies out. What a disappointment lol. Watchdog is not gonna be rare in a few weeks thanks to these spoiled kids who XP boosted their way to 152 from level 0. The original H5 players didn’t even know XP boosts existed til we were more than halfway in to being 152.
Undeserved rewards if you ask me. There’s never gonna be a deadline because 343 knows people are still buying XP boosts. That’s literally what’s keeping that game running. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
What’s wrong with that? It was never confirmed by the devs that you had to earn it by launch. As someone who also hit 152 before launch before i will say this… Stop acting entitled. You put in the work and earned it if others wanna earn it they can. No point in getting bent up about it
Incentivizing people to keep playing Halo 5 some amount is not a bad thing.
Especially since 5 includes things like Forge and Warzone and playlists that are currently lacking in Infinite.
Also, getting to 152 is a massive grind/challenge even if you’re applying a Legendary XP boost every single match, tons of people will do that and still end up deciding it’s not worth it and stop at 148 or something
Personally, I think that coating is not worth grinding Halo 5 all the way up to 152… I know people who have unlocked it and don’t even wear it.

Hahaha it takes over a year playing 8 hours a day to get there… with boosts. And that was before the game died. Half the playlists are empty now and the 10 or so last Warzone games I played had like 11 players total.

You in specific obviously don’t have a problem with this because you have literally every cosmetic in the game from all the promotions. And you were also one of the people who xp boosted their way to 152 just in time for infinite. Money doesn’t seem to be an issue for you huh. I have every right to feel entitled. 343 advertised Watchdog in a manner that made everyone think it was going to be a limited time coating. I spent more time on that game than I should’ve because I wasn’t XP boosting every game like certain people. Not everyone has that luxury. If you have a problem with my opinion, then that’s all you. No you assumed just like many others without factual evidence And I tell you how it is and if you don’t like it well I don’t know what to tell you. Also, I didn’t really spend that much especially because we had a group of like 40 plus players that I played with and we usually won 85% of our games so 20 boosts with winning 85% of the time added up.
I got to level 147 in Halo5 when I stopped playing a good few years ago….and I know it would take at least 6 months of consistent gameplay to get to 152 (I think the XP required is more than I earned in the game playing it day in day out). There’s no way a skin is worth that grind…but fairplay to those that have already done it and if they can do it now then fairplay to them…I have better things to do with my life than to worry about an in game skin.

There was an influx in threads being created by people who were on the mission to reach 152 before official launch. Those threads, which were in the old forum, are now gone so I cannot link you to said threads. Within those posts, everyone mentioned how their goal was to get there before the 8th of December because they also believed that was the deadline. But who cares anymore, it’s obviously not gonna change. Money makes the world go round baby.

I was part of those threads. There was speculation that there could be a deadline but nothing was ever said by 343 otherwise. It’s okay, I’m happy if people can still earn the skin, so long as the criteria is the same for everyone else. If they sold the skin in the store then there would be an issue.
