15 second flag return time for Harvest? WTF?!

So now on CTF, the flag returns based on individual map timers, as far as I can tell. Ragnarok still has 25 seconds—pretty decent, since it’s a massive map.

And Harvest has 15? Are you kidding me? Do you know how HUGE that map is? Who is the mental giant who thought that was a good idea? It’s singlehandedly ensured that unless all 5 teammates are on offense, it won’t happen. And anyone who tries to take the flag in CTF knows how much a rarity that is—90% of people prefer to hang back safely in base, shooting at people with DMRs and snipers from behind cover. Going on offense tanks your K/D ratio faster than going AFK.

It’s the same on Adrift. Contrary to popular belief, it takes a long time sometimes on adrift to reach the enemy base after dying to respawn—longer than 15 seconds. I used to win tons of games by being the sole person on offense and spending the entire match going over, taking the flag with a few seconds left, dying, and repeating. They were games of long, hard determination. Now, if I die when I have the flag on Adrift, it’s returned before I can even get to it to take it again.

Way to reward campers, 343. Every update seems to make something in Halo 4 worse. I’m so glad you’ve managed to empower the Boltshot flag campers even more.

According to 343i, Harvest is a “Medium” map, so in their logic it makes perfect sense.

Another fail.

Oh god. The first day I loaded Crimson DLC I just started laughing when I read that after playing it once. It is seriously a BTB map.

Since Shatter doesn’t work on splitscreen, it’s pretty much the only one I can play on Crimson DLC, too. Wreckage at least works on splitscreen half the time.

Guys, please.
This is a TEAM objective playlist. You’re suppose to work as a team. So that means you can’t have 90% of the team camping the base, and one guy rushing the objective. If that’s you’re problem, then don’t be surprised if you’re losing matches. Lone wolfing just won’t cut it anymore.

Go get some friends to play with you or go the the recruiting threads and get a team.

So what does that mean, that casuals are just completely, utterly screwed on team objective games? It shouldn’t be like that. We shouldn’t have to go form clans to play good games of CTF simply because the MLG mentality has turned every player into a hiding, Boltshot-using little sniper loser who thinks it takes skill to camp a base. I’m lucky enough to have a constant companion playing with me (though it’s splitscreen, so we can’t play half the maps), but you shouldn’t have to form a team to expect a good time in Team Objective.
