15 Reasons Why Halo 3 is Better Than Reach...

  1. The magnum actually worked in Halo 3.
  2. There is no ‘bleed through’ in Reach(except in MLG).
  3. The spawning in Reach is absolutely terrible.
  4. Headshots count far less frequently in Reach.
  5. Bloom.
  6. Armor lock.
  7. Jet-pack.
  8. The sword in Reach is far overpowered, coupled with sprint one has the ability to completely dominate with little to no skill needed. Also, in Halo 3 you could actually manage to ‘tie’ someone who had a sword by punching them if they had no shield or their shield was low enough.
  9. The shotgun in Reach is far underpowered. This, coupled with the lack of bleed through makes it an utter failure.
  10. For some reason, in Reach it is possible to kill someone who has the sword and get killed by his sword swing ‘from the grave’. For instance, 5 shotting someone with the magnum from close range who is sprinting at you with the sword will inevitably end in your demise. This, coupled with the magnum rarely ‘working’ in the game to begin with only adds frustration. Also, it is even possible to get a ‘bulltrue’ medal and still die from the sword. Can you say, physically impossible?
  11. The concussion rifle is far overpowered and actually has the ability to temporarily stun opponents. As if the fact that it is a 3-4 shot kill didn’t make it overpowered enough. Oh, and those shots don’t necessarily have to hit them either.
  12. Double Pummel. Now I realize this happened in Halo 3 also, but thanks to bleed through it was much easier to pull off a tie on all the noobs who seem to only have 2 punches on their minds.
  13. Grenades are the size of pumpkins and are far overpowered. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve been killed by one grenade with full shield and health.
  14. The maps in Reach are terrible. Even the ones I consider to be ‘playable’ are far inferior to the maps in Halo 3. To make this point I really only have to say one thing, Reflection.
  15. Halo 3’s ranking system is 1,000 better than credits. I am not going to sit here and play this terrible game for hours on end just so I can reach general. Anyone can reach inheritor, it requires no skill just a lot of time. In Halo 3 you can reach a 50 in 70-100 games if you’re skilled enough.

I decided to make this list after finally get fed up with Reach to the point of rage quitting a game and vowing never to step into that matchmaking lobby again. I figured I would post this on here to see what you guys think and maybe get some different opinions.

Ok, first of all try doing this…

Reason 1: Derp dee derp.

Reason 2: Hurpa durpa derpa derp.

Adding the extra space makes it much more tolerable to read. Secondly, you could list 1000 reasons and it still wouldn’t mean anything, if you prefer Halo 3 over Halo: Reach then that’s great for you but you don’t have to come on here and say that the game is definitely better because of these reasons.

Also, Reason 1, the Magnum actually worked in Halo 3.
You’re kidding right?

What’s this about the magnum in Halo 3? Surely you jest.

I love the Reach magnum. It’s one of the best things about the game.

“1. The magnum actually worked in Halo 3.”

I literally laughed out loud…and stopped reading.

LoL magnum actually worked in Halo 3 I literally rofled . Reach probably has the 2nd best magnum in the series . Play MLG and use the magum . It’s lethal without bloom

> LoL magnum actually worked in Halo 3 I literally rofled . Reach probably has the 2nd best magnum in the series . Play MLG and use the magum . It’s lethal without bloom

There is no magnum in MLG…

13 - I’ll give you that one - I’ve been 100/100 and died from a single frag.

I’m a “persistence” Inheritor, so I’ll admit bias, but credits and commendations end up encouraging players to experience other parts of the game, not just matchmaking.

Since you didn’t mention FF or Campaign, may I assume that MM is your focus?

I’m barely going to acknowledge the first part of your post. I’m not all that gung-ho about formatting, what I have written was easy enough to read and comprehend. I was able to do it and so can you. Your attempt at pointing out my ‘bad’ formatting is an attempt at distraction all while avoid the topic matter.

These are obviously my ‘opinions’ and that goes without saying, I don’t know your reasoning in pointing this out. I posted this to hopefully get more additions to the list or for someone to put up some sort of argument against the reason(s) listed. Your reply affords neither. Thanks for nothing.

PS - No I am not kidding. Magnum shots in Reach rarely count from 20ft away or further, and that’s with pacing the shots. Plus they can just sprint away anyway so it defeats the purpose.

It’s terrible. Headshots rarely count, body shots rarely count. Even if you 5 shot someone
you’ll likely get killed first by his AR.

Congrats sir.

You’ve shown that you only have the ability to gain the general consensus about any given topic and present it has ‘your’ opinion.

Thanks for nothing!

Hmm. I don’t seem to have any trouble with it. In fact, I find it be more reliable than the DMR in many cases. and I would much rather carry it as a secondary weapon then the AR.

Regardless of your troubles with the Reach Magnum, I still don’t understand how you could think the magnum in Halo 3 was effective. Fun to use at times, but effective? Absolutely not.

  1. Halo 3 is full of more vocal a-holes than Reach.

…Did we get issued the same magnum in Halo 3? 'Cause mine was pretty terrible.

Sort of agree except for the default/dlc maps since I loved those maps but hated the horrible forge nonsene that has been there since halo 3. Also I hate the inheritor rank system since feels like a grind, feels more like work than fun.

everything is better in halo 3 compared to reach.

> everything is better in halo 3 compared to reach.

I think so too, but I figured I’d list and give some reasons for it. Just so all those kids who only play Reach because it’s ‘current’ can really feel the burn.

Go back to 3 stay out of reach and dont buy halo 4. As Simple as that.
