After doing some research, 1 YEAR after halo 3 came out, there were 250,000 people online at one point. Halo 4 has been out less than a week.
Great campaign. Terrible multiplayer. No winning incentive. No ranking system leads to this terrible decrease in population.
I’m bored with the game. Will check in to see the “ranking system” next year.
With no visible 1-50 ranking, competitive players leave and social people stay. With 1-50 visible ranking, competitive people play, social players still play.
…it’s kinda in late in the Americas and really early overseas. Plus it’s a weekday, people have responsibilities.
Next time you want to make a topic like this, take a note of the other possible variables that could be changing the population instead of blaming it on the ranking system.
(fyi I want the ranking system, I’ve been a supporter of a visual system since day one.)
OP is a troll. Game population means nothing. Everyone said “REACH IS DEAD!” And yet there was still 80,000 people playing up before Halo 4 came out. If I can still find a full game, the game isn’t dead and it’s still fun for me.
So to ahead and try to use game population as yet another argument for a skill system, it doesn’t mean anything.
343 has already made it clear that they are obsessed with the statistics and numbers of how their game and playlists are performing. Hopefully they will see how rapidly their audience is declining.
343, your game is boring. Simply put. I just hope you dont beleive its becausr your game doesent have enough perks and armor unlockables. Its because you have strayed far away from what seperated halo from other fps games and why it wad beloved. If we wanted to play CoD we would. In fact, we did, hence why the amount of people playing your game has been cut in half ever since the release of black ops 2.
“Terrible mutiplayer” I agree there are some aspects that make some maps less than stellar, but overall it’s probably the most fun I’ve had on MM in any Halo game. I would like to see the ranking system implemented soonish though.
Also there are a couple factors that have the population low right now. First, it’s 11:15 to 2:15 here is america, the country with the most players. And Call of Duty is a big competitor to Halo and has always taken the front seat since MW2 came out. It doesn’t surprise me that we’ll never see Halo 3 numbers again. Halo is still very popular, just not the same #1 juggernaut it used to be.
Very true and very sad. That’s what happens when you make a wanna-be CoD game out of what was supposed to be a great Halo game; It is a watered down Halo and a watered down CoD game. 343i desperately wanted to make the next CoD game, but were tasked with making Halo 4 instead, so they went ahead and made a CoD game with a slapped on terrible campaign and the title of Halo 4 on the case to try and cover their butts. They are exposed for what they’ve done by H4 being terrible and by CoD Black Ops 2 almost completely wiping out H4’s online population in a single day after only ONE week of H4 being released. Embarrassing, 343i. So it actually DOES so happen that CoD kids would rather go play CoD BO’s 2 instead of Halo: wanna-be CoD 4. Let this huge kick in the pants that CoD BO’s 2 has given to H4 teach you your lesson, 343i. Fix H4 immediately by removing the CoD rip-offs and restoring H4 to an actual Halo game as people in other threads have stated.
black ops 2 JUST came out. You want an accurate population count? Wait till after christmas because a LOT more people will be getting it for christmas.
Thats not a low population. And you can go in any playlist to date and find a game fast.
