14 starting weapons? Seriously?

I’m seriously concerned about weapon balancing right now. It seems we have more than enough starters for players to be satisfied. We have 3 precisions, 2 full autos, and possibly the shotgun…and that still isn’t even half of the starters.

Going from 2 potential starting weapons (Ar/ pistol, Smg/br, br/Ar, and dmr/AR) to 14 weapons/2, maybe 3 pistols?

Well, I’m happy with the sandbox so far. So long as competitive players don’t all use the exact same starting weapon and armor ability, we can call it balanced.

Hey, I’d rather have one underpowered weapon that’s redundant to all other weapons rather then one overpowered weapon that makes all other weapons redundant.

It’s time for a change, let’s give Halo some dignity rather then being a laughing stock.

The only thing I’m worried about is the autos becoming useless. The Carbine functions beautifully in close quarters if neither side has the Scattershot or sword. Backpedal and the BR does just fine, too.

All the gameplay that I’ve seen (MLG or not) included BR usage mostly, some Carbine, a little DMR, and virtually no Storm Rifle/AR.

Balancing will come, I’ve no doubt. These public tests are great for helping the 343i team.

I think what we have seen of the starting weapons are the most powerful. im not so concerned by the shotgun it seems more of an ordnance.

I’ve seen a few tid-bits here and there with some AR and storm rifle gameplay in CQC, and they are pretty powerful.

343 has announced that there will be certain weapons/loadouts to be restricted in certain gametypes due to preloaded loadouts

Where was it said there will be 14 starting weapons? Because honestly that is overkill, I’m happy with the 5 we got now. Maybe have 2-3 more, BUT 14, that’s too much.

I remember hearing it was 15 actually. I don’t remember where though.

As I recall hearing, there are 15 PRIMARY weapons.

They are not unlocked all at once. Nothing to worry about.

that makes sense but still…that’s a lot.

It should be fine as long as it doesn’t lead to having 85 weapons in Halo 5, looks at Battlefield 3.
