Really…when has anyone ever seen a trial for a Map pack. Microsoft messed up and said if you can grab it it’s yours because it was their fault now to compensate for lost money and angry fans who spent their money, people who got it free have to purchase it anyway. Nice cover up Microshaft GG.
How is them accidentally making it downloadable for free, then saying “well, we already did this, might as well just let them keep it for a couple weeks then make it require a purchase” them “shafting” anyone? You get to play a map pack for free for 2 weeks without paying a dime, and decide if you think the maps are worth purchasing. It sounds like you’re the one getting a good deal.
Actually no, they don’t have to purchase it. The map pack is up for grabs until Dec. 18th. If you download it before then, you have access to the maps. At least that’s what some people have noticed with a few of the statements coming out of -Yoink!-, including myself. On the other hand, it could just be a trial but like you said, who the hell does a map pack trial?
It’s all a bit confusing. Oh, that’s right, because -Yoink!- came up with it last minute to try and cover up their -Yoink- up. Now it’s just a bigger mess.

Its all in the wording though. You cant say confirm purchase of DLC for 0mp then turn around and say its a trial. By the wording i have CONFIRMED PURCHASE of the DLC for 0mp.

Try again. It’s shafting those who paid for the maps. I bet you that there will be another little “mistake” on Dec. 18th that will allow those who had the free trial to simply keep the maps.
Oh, and once the maps are on your hard drive, they are there for good. So while they may not allow you to use them in matchmaking (which you can still get around, btw), you can still use them in custom games.
actually its they can shut down your use of them on the 18th very easily. Yes you might still be able to use them in offline customs, you wont be able to use them in online customs.
They goofed up, and this was probably the easiest way to fix it for them. Is it a bad pr spin? of course, does it stop them from fixing it on the 18th? no
there is nothing you can do about it come the 18th.
I see nothing wrong with a 14 day trial, if people who got it for free are complaining there simply selfish and want it for free. Did you think a bout the people who actually bought it? Is it fair for them who paid? No? Then stop the whining…I rather have a trial to see if the maps are worth it then buying it and regret it. Period.

Pretty much this. Its like, you paid up the -Yoink- for these maps and yet those who didn’t get them free no strings attached? That’s not fair at me thinks.
What is fair is not screwing over map pack pass users while giving the the free trials as to be sort of a demo for players to put points towards or utterly ignore the maps in disgust.
