So your saying the people that bought the map or bought the mapp pass only has 14 days to use the map?
No, I’m saying that MS has changed their story twice now on what would happen to those lucky enough to get it free.
The Crimson Map Pack was made available, by mistake, for free to some without the LE or War Games Pass
At first Xbox Support said that those who had downloaded it for free would be able to keep it and to “have it on them” due to the pricing error
Today, it seems MS have reworded it and now claim that what people actually downloaded for free was a 1 week trial of the Map Pack, ending 18 December 9am GMT, despite no map pack ever having a trial before, and that those on this new “trial” are able to unlock and keep Achievements for Crimson
MS, if you cant fix it, cover it up lol
Yeah, total cover up to avoid legal liability for actually pulling a bait-and-switch. Glad most everyone recognizes that.
I’m not buying. howcome this is the first we’ve heard of this “buy and play” program? I would think a promotion like that would be advertised ahead of time. Also, when has anyone EVER given a free trial for DLC? it makes no sense. I think what we’re looking at, here, is a situation where they screwed up the map rollout, and gave a bunch of people free content. now they’ve come up with a way to take it back and make you pay without looking like jerks.
I got the LE so it doesnt make a lick of difference to me, but its just sad that MS/343i wont be up front with us on stuff like this,
Once people get the achievements they are not going to buy the maps. There is no point to buy them. Look at what happened to the DCL playlist on reach when 343 took over. It got cut. This is such a bad marketing strategy for 343, trials never work you only lose money on them.
