13 Campaign Missions

Gamestop’s listing of Halo Wars 2 mentions 13 campaign missions. That’s 2 less than Halo Wars’ 15. Though they seem to make up for this in that more missions will be added in content updates.

I wonder how these content-updated missions will work? Will they be like Spartan Ops, where it continues a story, or will they be random, one-off missions? If random, one-off, how will Halo Wars 2’s plot work with it?

it’d be cool if there was like a firefight mode, where you have to build bases and manage resources against harder and harder waves of enemies, that’d add some replayability to the game and make up for less missions. but then again what if these missions are super long? or more interesting? I dunno I’m not trying to cast doubt is all.

Or there are 2 extra “missions” where all you have to do is to walk around or through the map your Marines. Maybe 343 learned that walking around isn’t a mission (in case you haven’t heard than in Halo 5, there 2 “missions” where you just looking around), soo the number of the actual missions are really 13, if we don’t count the previos 2.

I’m guessing it be like an seasonal event where you get to see what going on with the Reemerge of the Spirit of Fire that is kinda awoken in an new world, where it seem like they are jumping back into non stop action with the Banish that seem to taken the role of the Old Convenent forces, where you get to see how Cpt. Cutter an the crew readjust to the aftermath of the war an slowly by the end of the 13th mission you get the feel they are founding they place in start to develop new technology.

Season 2
where be the Banish PoV on the event that brought them to the Ark an the mysterious on why did they reappear now not during the Covie vs UNSC - MC - war ?

Season 3
would be we get to see Halo Mainstream linking up with the SoF… or see New Colony alliance group…rebels… come into play…

the beginning … where the SoF are at war with the Banish… the middle being… the Banish back story… the end is SoF rejoining the UNSC or going solo…rouge…or new Enemy

I doubt the SoF would go rouge. Cutter seems like a straight military figurehead, and I think he wants to continue his duty, to even just honor the crew he lost along the course of the events of the first Halo Wars. I would think, and frankly be upset with 343 if it didn’t happen, that they will somehow become part of the greater Halo narrative since this game is set post Halo 5.

dont care as long as they add more

Wasn’t Cutter Hood’s mentor or CO? Doesn’t mean they were best friends, but I like the thought and hope they were!

Hood was cutters second in command a few years before halo wars one

They will add more, but just in case people don’t care, they decided to cut up the game and have mission(s) packaged into day 1 DLC. We should be so grateful /sarcasm.

They definitely shouldn’t have kept those as separate missions(they probably did it to make intel collection quicker), but I feel like those moments were great for world-building and atmosphere-development. I firmly believe it’s something 343 should look into for the future.
