12 things you want in Halo 6.

This question is for anything from the halo universe. So my 12 things I want in Halo 6 is

  • I want Brutes from halo 2 and halo 3 to come back. Even though Halo Wars 2 got the story with Brutes but it would be amazing if Atriox and his army come into Halo 6. - I want to see Red team to meet up with Blue team or the UNSC Infinity ship. - I want the players emblem back on the armor like from the previous halo games. - I want A.I in forge - (Idea for A game mode) It would be cool to have a gamemode where we can play as factions like invasion from Halo Reach but with the Promethean/forerunner faction, the UNSC, the Covenant, and Atrioxs army (If there in Halo 6). I know this is kind of like Halo Wars but it would be FPS and way better. We could have classes based off the factions and there would be a level system like the req system from halo 5s Warzone, so the more you req/level up, the closer you get to the next class. So the level system would be 1-12 so for the UNSC at lvl 1-4 you’re a marine, at lvl 5-8 you can change yourself into a ODST, and at lvl 9-12 you can be a maxed out spartan and etc for the other factions (Not listing all lvls because that would take too long) and the weapons, vehicles,and power abilities/power ups would bases off the factions. (PLEASE MAKE A GAME MODE LIKE THIS) - Playable sangheili (elites) for matchmaking, custom games, and forge because the swords of sanghelios is allied with the UNSC. - Better graphics. Not cartoony like Halo 5 - Rated M+17. What im saying is more blood and swear words. I want this because Halo 5 was kind of like a kids game and my friends don’t like Halo 5 because they say it looks like a kids game. Even though I don’t mind it but most of the Halo community wants the game to be more for adults. - Classic armor customization like from Halo Reach. - And finally I want certifications to reward us a lot more. Halo 5s certifications only gave us req cards and emblems and in my opinion we should be getting rewarded a armor set of some sort or something better then emblems because I was really upset when I completed all weapon certifications and I was only rewarded with an emblem that didn’t even look good so it would be cool if you could bring back better rewarding things and so the certifications are actually worth completing. - An open world to discover like Mass effect or Destiny. - Metallic colors for armor.What are your 12 things you want in Halo 6?
  1. Character development, and less characters in general (so everyone gets their share of scenes)
  2. Good continuity, so the game doesn’t come out of nowhere from a plot standpoint like 5 did (suddenly introducing a bunch of new elements and characters instead of picking up on the many, many loose ends)
  3. A story that isn’t focused on just wrapping up Halo 5’s Created arc as fast as possible, and instead gives layers to it we didn’t expect. Instead of this being a stain on the face of the Halo story that they’re trying to clean away, let it surprise us and become something worth our time.
  4. Forge that isn’t a step back
  5. A good lineup of launch gamemodes (instead of playing catch-up a year after release)
  6. Maps that have personality and aren’t a forgettable pile of gray blocks

That is a quite a ask for them… The story could have already deployed in to developing the Halo 6. I would like the story where you get surprises such as in Halo CE, arbiter missions, fear of flood and the glory of a hero.

OP

  1. Chief actually gets to win. He saves Cortana and she becomes a good AI again. Reveal that she was still rampant and wouldn’t have done all those bad things otherwise.
  2. Campaign that’s more than 5 hours long on normal. No mission should be less than 40 minutes long. Its not speed running if its easy…
  3. Larger environments and maps for campaign.
  4. Blue Prometheans with a decent animation for the color. It annoys me that the blue AI is leading orange robots. :smiley:
  5. More Prometheans units, vehicles and bring back brutes/drones/engineers for Covenant. More bosses.
  6. Longer cutscenes that set the tone and explain stuff better. Less confusing short hand dialogue delivered in-game.
  7. More Chief. Or come up with a compelling reason to play as Locke given the games premise…
  8. Up the graphics. Multiplayer Spartans and grass should not look that bad.
  9. More cinematic multiplayer maps that feel more immersive. Less fighting in garages.
  10. If I am fighting Warzone on the elite homeworld then the core and garages should be similarly themed…
  11. Definitely have Forge and the Custom Browser available at launch.
  12. Be more ambitious with the Warzone maps and player count. 64 player games.
  • Brutes - Flood - Other playable characters (not just other Spartans, like playing as a Sangheili or marine or ODST) - Sangheili for multiplayer (playable like Halo 2, 3 and Reach) - Tutorial on how to use the crazy Forge (if its the same as Halo 5) even if its just a video - Back to the old style a bit (to me it feels to cartoon like or overdone) my faviourite style is either Halo 3 or Halo Reach - If possible a stealth mission (just miss the stealth parts with ODST) - Side missions - that may also help the end result of the campaign ie ODST squad deploy to an area to destroy defences then makes the next mission easier or harder. - Continue the way we had to find collectables in game (thanks for bringing the skulls back to Halo 5) - An assassination on a Hunter - basically jump around to their back throw a grenade inside them and BOOM! (taken from Halo 4 Forward onto Dawn Film) - Sentinels - To be perfectly honest this is only a small list and I feel really demanding about it as I can read from the other two above me, really these are things I would be happy to see. But this last one is just make a Halo game to answer the cliff hangers please!!

  2. Give us flood or brutes or something to mix up the gameplay. I think Cotanas forces might be it though. Like grunts with forerunner tech, goblins etc.

  3. Use music better in the game. Halo 5 has a great soundtrack but how they use it is often awfull.

  4. Give us codex and explain more deep lore in the story and don’t just shovel it in without giving player their backstory.

Split screen is already a promise for every Halo FPS from now on.

  1. Better campaign as a whole.
  2. AI In forge along with even more weapons/vehicles/etc.
  3. Bring back ACTUAL armor abilities along with Spartan abilities. And get rid of that God-awful Ground Pound.
  4. Bring back playable Sangheili in multiplayer.
  5. Gore. I want it back. In even more extremity than 3. Like I’m talking blowing limbs off of things OTHER than Flood. Along with more swearing. #makeHaloHaloagain
  6. Better maps in Warzone. Arena maps were actually fine IMO. Made everything fast paced, as it should be.
  7. Maps on the scale of Forge World that are already premade. Should be in different environments.
  8. FIRST PERSON DRIVING/ASSASSINATIONS!
  9. Bring back the old Halo artstyle. Along with Blur cut scenes if possible.
  10. Customization EVEN BETTER than Reach. Like Helmet and its accessories, chest and its accessories, shoulders, wrists, thighs, knees, shins, and feet. AND DECALS. Add armor decals so I can put a deaths head decal on my helmet. Along with undersuit colors.

I know I put like 2 or 3 is one question sometimes, but there’s a lot to ask for. Thanks for reading!

Yeah I know. I just really want it :smiley: I hope 4-player multplayer split screen comes back or at least that they won’t -Yoink- it up somehow.

I want the old color/armor scheme from the past Halo games.
I want the old radar back (only way to not show up is to crouch).
I want the old aiming system back, looking left to right goes faster after you fire a weapon and doesn’t allow me to aim like I used to. I can go back to the other Halos and reign supreme but feel stunted in Halo 5.
I want the old sounds from vehicles.
I want to be able to hear more clearly that a vehicle is near me, they are too quiet and I do not own a surround system.
I want players that you killed to not spawn behind you anymore like in the past Halos… THIS IS NOT CALL OF DUTY!
I no longer want buildings that have 14 windows and 10 doors with 10 big boulders on the outside to which obscures my view.
If we have abilities I want them either staggered use or 2-3 uses for each life you have. When you respawn you get another 2-3 uses.
I want developer maps that don’t have 2-3 different renditions.
I don’t want forge maps to be part of the rotation if they lag your Xbox out and lower your fps.
And MUCH MUCH MORE!

My list:

  • Split-screen (pretty much confirmed) - Spartan Red Team as playable characters in campaign - Playable Elites? - Brutes or the Flood - The return of the Sentinels - More colour options - Option to have a glowing visor - Battle damage as a customization option - Buck buying the whole damn bar

I’m not sure if I can make it to 12, so I’m just going to list what I would like and see if it makes it to 12

  • Achievement or credit based unlock system, get rid of this RNG REQ point crap, no one likes that - A campaign that can blow my socks off, come on 343i you have all the parts, you just gotta put them together - A multiplayer matchmaking system that includes party matchmaking - If you must, make Warzone balanced, right now and probably until the end, Halo 5 Warzone is way too unbalanced - Allow voice chat among all players in social playlists. I hate not being able to speak to the people on the enemy team. (or even the infected in infection, like come on man, not even your teammates can hear you) - Proper focus on what is needed for Halo 6. Halo 5 had a lot of their goals in all different directions and ended up being a cluster-Yoink- of unfinished ideas. - A forge mode that I can play offline or online if I choose - A theater mode that instead of using files from a server, use a local catch of temporary space to find and view the game like it was before. Or just make it work like it should
  1. An excellent campaign, one that’s written and designed well. A good, compelling story like Halo 4, and more subtle level design. I felt that I could ‘see the wires’ in Halo 5’s campaign, that I could look at features and setups and tell what the designers intended players to do in parts of the campaign. It needs to be more open, less linear, and involves bigger battles. For instance, the Kraken just stood still and let you board it and destroy it. It should’ve been more like the Scarab battles in Halo 3.

  2. A smooth, responsive UI. The UI of most video games has declined as of late, and Halo 5 suffers from it more than others. In Reach, you could access your armor and other customization options without any problems. In Halo 5, there’s all sorts of lag and errors with the REQ system. I’m sick of waiting for my things to show up while staring at “Retrieving Data” for several minutes and being unable to access/sell new REQ cards I acquire. This is related to my next request.

  3. Compressed, more efficient data. Halo 5’s updates have taken up way more space than they should. Altogether, they take up 9x as much space as Fallout/Skyrim. I’m no coding expert, but I think this is one of the reasons why Halo 5’s UI is so laggy.

  4. Reach’s art style. I liked Reach’s art style the most. It was gritty and realistic; Spartans looked like war-hardened soldiers instead of space-knights in shining, high-tech armor. It felt realistic and set the ‘impending-doom’ mood very well.

  5. Split Screen and LAN capability. The former has been more or less confirmed, and the latter will enhance split screen by letting groups of people in the same building play together more efficiently than they would over Xbox Live.

  6. Playable Elites. A feature missed by many fans, including myself. Some people complain that they would negatively effect Arena, but who says they have to be in Arena? They could easily take the approach that Reach had and keep them separate. We shouldn’t deny fans an old feature they want when the potential problems they pose can be easily solved. In addition to adding more options to custom games and Machinima, they could get their own Arena playlist, which opens many possibilities that would make the game more fun.

  7. Less low-effort weapons and vehicles. So many of the REQs are just slightly improved versions of the original. Seriously, we don’t need to have dozens of different paintjobs for all the UNSC vehicles. They’re welcome in forge for Machinima and custom games, but there’s no need to dilute the pool of unlockables any further. Speaking of which-

  8. Less armor, more customization options. The number of different armors available in Halo 5 is just too much. It equates to more data and more lag, as I previously mentioned. Besides, most chest armor looks the same anyway. There should be less armor, and I think that Reach had the perfect amount of armor available. Bring back shoulder/leg customization etc. and instead of premade visor colors, allow us to change the visor colors ourselves like armor (choose a main color and a reflective color). Halo 5’s REQ system already has plenty of visors that look alike.

  9. Improve or remove AI-controlled Spartans in the campaign. Halo campaigns have always done well with Chief as a lone wolf. The AI Spartans in Halo 5 caused nothing but frustration for me. They’re idiotic, plain and simple. If I could turn them off and go through the campaign solo, I would. Seriously, seeing the fabled members of Blue team constantly run into a short ledge they can clamber over while trying to revive me is probably the most immersion-breaking things I’ve ever seen. Unless they made some serious improvements to the AI, I’d rather go alone.

  10. Improved vehicles. Most of the vehicles in Halo 5 (save for Ghosts and any air vehicle) are shadows of their former selves. Scorpions are wickedly slow and easy to board (though boarding them from behind is incredibly inconsistent) and warthog gunners are killed way too easily. Vehicles used to be something to be feared, and they used to be overpowered because there were little to no heavy weapons to fight them with. Now they’re a joke.

I believe that 343 have already confirmed that halo wars will finally be joining the main franchise if not just watch the end credits scene of halo wars 2 and halo 5 and its pretty clear that it’s going to happen

  1. Less air vehicles in warzone too many people spam this when u have 4 or 5 of these in the air spawn killing / trapping in a base
    2.If keep the req system make it so beginner players have an equal chance or make it more balanced for example all of the basic versions of weapons on loadout are actually unlocked upon beginning the game (yes i had major issues with this when i first got into warzone not having a SMG or DMR sucked)
  2. take out the triple capping in warzone entirely i missed the old warzone days when the only base people fought over was the middle base people actually played the game to wipe out bosses etc
  3. fix some of the spawns in arena it sucks when u get spawned across the map from ur teammates pretty much getting melted by the enemy team
    5.now for the campaign to add a bit of replayability to the story keep the ai team mates (please make them smarter tho) but after the story is complete make an option that lets u choose the character u wish to control see the story through there POV.
  4. make a larger map for each story chapter not just point A to point B in reach we had air battles to watch out for even getting killed by fallen banshee debris yes it was annoying sometimes but it gave the maps something really good not just some bland exploring plus i like when the debris killed everyone it was random lmao
  5. we need bigger battles include some version of firefight into the main story where its a level or two of huge battles between ally ai with the players team against an enormous amount of enemies like all out war etc
  6. while i am a fan of two members of Fireteam Osiris (Vale and Buck , Nathan Fillion FTW) id like to see Osiris and Blue Team work together it would be nice to be able to play as any of Blue Team and any of Osiris after u beat the main story (just please have us play as MC through the first playthrough)
  7. take out ground pound and stabilize while i understand spartan charge and dash,slide ground pound literally doesnt do anything to the game other than have a messed up mechanic that allow exploits same with stabilize with stabilize u can move to areas of the map u cannot normally do and just freeze in midair to take shots this can be highly annoying and something that just shouldnt be in the game.
  8. we need more unique playlists and better servers for them while i dont get to really enjoy arena play asmuch as i like from laggy net i do go there a few times when i play i find alot of the playlists to be bland infection is really fun CTF but assault is one i just dont understand why take out playlist just because enough players dont play it keep the list there its better to have more options while playing than take some fun away from players who just go to play one certain thing (i play alot of arena when my nets stable and i play many of the playlists both ranked and unranked)
  9. fix the frickken ban system in Social playlists and Warzone for no reason should these gamemodes have penalties for leaving maybe things come up and u have to leave maybe sometimes ur nets lagging so bad ur holding the team up making the enemy team gain so u be considerate of ur teammates and leave because u cant shoot or maybe work calls or ur wife or kids need u and u have to leave its not fair to punish people who have to leave the game or last but not least when the frickken servers just kick u and u get a ban for nothing or that fireteam has changed glitch thats where my bans came from its unjust and its just plan wrong for social list ranked i can see
  10. this is all from my experences of the game i know alot of other players have issues aside from these but we need to work together to get 343s attention to make halo the best experience for all players rather than jump them at every detail yeah they have made alot of mistakes but the multiplayer in this game is truly amazing and everyone can agree forge has been the best its ever been thanks for those of u who have read this far sorry for the super long post good luck and dont get noob combo`ed

I dunno that I have exactly 12 suggestions but just general thoughts:

  • While I would personally prefer classic, more Halo 3 style movement mechanics, the gaming community as a whole has spoken and generally feels Halo 5’s multiplayer is a hit. So, I expect Halo 6’s multiplayer will largely be a copy and paste of Halo 5’s multiplayer, with new maps of course, but tweaked and massaged just a bit both in terms of mechanics and playlist selection. I’m mostly at peace with that, but THEY NEED to release a COMPLETE game at launch that equally takes care of both casual and competitive players from day 1. Not a year later with updates after a lot of players have already left because there wasn’t enough for them to do with their particular playstyle. - It would appear, both with Halo 5’s content updates and with Halo Wars 2, that they are slowly shifting back towards the classic art style. This pleases me. I don’t want to see the newer 343 styles disappear completely, I’d be happy to see them co-exist side by side with the older ones. It makes canonical sense for this because with the galaxy under Created lockdown, the UNSC and SOS should be having to loot old supplies. - On the whole, I still prefer Marty’s soundtracks to 343’s, but that said, Halo 5’s soundtrack was a step back in the right direction over Halo 4’s. If they can’t bring Marty back, at a minimum I’d prefer they keep Jinnouchi as the composer. - Story-wise - like many lore fans I strongly disliked Halo 5’s story. That said, I agree that just dropping the current plot arc and starting over AGAIN would be a bad move. We can continue to explore this Created thing. But they need to move away from the most distasteful elements of it as soon as possible. I want to see them establish that a lot of UNSC AI’s did not defect, so humanity’s relationship with AI can continue, because that’s a very cool part of Halo. And I want to see them more clearly establish going forward that this damaged, incomplete, crazy copy of Cortana’s program is a different character than the original, so the original can rest in peace with some semblance of dignity restored to her character. - Oh, and it goes without saying, moar Master Chief and Blue Team time vs. Halo 5. If they do all of the above, with a sandbox, weapon balance and level design on par with Halo 5’s, I really believe Halo 6 could be GOAT material.

  4. Didact

  6. Removal of spartan charge
  7. Removal of ground pound
  8. Removal of smart link on autos
  9. Good/simple plot
  10. Better character development
  11. Cortana please come back please
  12. More Promethean vehicles

Know this is basically dead now but I’ve been reading the halo novels and I would love to see the team from that meet up on one of the games (with Halo Envoy it feels like they are alluring to Gray Team being trained for the Cortana AI invasion) So…

  • The other Spartan II groups that still live (and Spartan III’s) - The Banished (Atriox isn’t dead so I assume he will be coming into a future game, doubt they’d kill him off in DLC) - Side missions where you play as others to get more lore (Optional missions) - An Open World style game could be good for Halo 6 (because they are popular atm) - More characters from the books - Bring back Invasion (or make a game mode like it where you play 2 factions rather than just Spartans v Spartans) - Better character customisatiom (like reach)As a side note, I feel like if they did a main game one year and then the following year they did a spin off where you play someone other than Master Chief or Spartans then this could give more life to the game series and it would be cool to see what’s happening around the halo universe outside of MC’s perspective like we have in the past.
