110% movement speed/ instant respawn/ sprint

How are these 3 factors combined not going to create imbalance?

I hate getting killed by someone in the same spot I JUST killed them in, this is just going to make it worse. I see everyone getting their revenge commendation by the end of June. At least take away instant respawn…

I thought they already did take away instant respawn. But I haven’t played in awhile.

Only in certain playlists, an example being CTF.

Certain game modes still have instant respawn. I think Swat and Lightning Flag do.

OP I don’t think you understand why they’re changing the movement speed.

Sprinting around everywhere with 4sk BR settings will get you melted every time. People are going to need to learn to not sprint very much and the base movement speed in this game is really slow.

As for instant respawn, I don’t really care because I avoid playing anything that has it.

Instant Respawns should be changed to a 3-5 second respawns in Big Team Infinity Slayer but otherwise it really isn’t that big a problem. Action Sack embraces chaos and Infinity Slayer doesn’t suffer much from it. In Flood it allows the Flood a good advantage. There aren’t many gametypes that actually have instant respawns anyway.

Yeah, I didn’t get the whole 110% movement speed with instant respawn. I love playing SWAT but instant respawn kills that game type. I feel this (instant respawn and 110% movement speed) is going to kill it even more.

I don’t see how that would happen. I sprint and look at the radar, then stop sprinting when I see a red dot is near… In big maps if I’m being shot at while sprinting I’ll just keep sprinting for cover. Also, map awareness, I sprint where I know I should sprint and for the most part I know where the enemy team is at depending on my last death, red X, etc. I know when to stop sprinting.

The reason it’s being implemented is to make gameplay faster and that’s it. If they wanted to stop people from sprinting often then they’d remove sprint.

It would be nice to have 3 second respawn, and a shortened shield recharge wait.

i still havent gotten used to instant respawn and find myself waiting to respawn quite often.

Lightning CTF is not instant respawn, its 5-3 seconds.
Certain of those maps are prone to spawn camping, like Haven.

I like the game on the whole, 1sk and speedier movement, no sprint, limited AA, and only Lightrifle, carbine and concussions rifle. Probably my favourite game type at present.

I think a 3 second delay in respawning is fine and I dont think anyone would complain.

The new kill times are going to severely punish mindless sprinters and as a result we are going to start to see less of it on smaller maps, so they gave base speed a small boost. It should make straffing better too.

Instant respawn is only in Slayer, Swat, and some Action Sack game types.

Combat Evolved had higher base movement speed than even 110% Halo 4 speed, much faster kill times, and it even had instant respawn as the default respawn setting (which most people raging about instant respawn not being “Halo” are completely ignorant of…). It’s also widely considered the most competitive, and skill intesive, Halo game in the entire series.

I don’t know why people are already complaining and worrying about the update. It’ll be fine. Halo 4 was too slow and needed it’s pace to be sped up a lot. This won’t fix every problem but it’ll help a ton.

I just wish they’d decrease shield recharge times so trying stay alive would be a viable tactic.

I see the upcoming weapon tuning and the increase in basic movement speed as some kind of subtle way to reduce the amount of sprinting in the game (in addition of weapon balancing obviously). People will have to be smarter before runnig around and think twice before trying to run away from a fight, now it’ll be harder to ‘get around that corner’ before you die.

It might help for strafing too, and apparently some people believe it will slightly buff the Thruster Pack, wich is the only AA I really use. I hope its true.

I’m also for a faster recharge rate for the sheilds. I don’t like it as it is now.

:open_mouth: I forgot the TP would be affected, YES!

There’s a 4th & 5th factor also Revenge Spawning + 8 second shield recharge. I see it all the time in Regicide and Rumble Pit so all 5 factors are going to make it hard to avoid being cleaned up by the person you just killed.

5 second respawn needs to be put in place across the game as a minimum.
