We are aware that last night’s server side update has once again improved Matchmaking times for many users, while others are still seeing longer than expected times. We continue to investigate and will have a detailed update coming later this morning PST.

Who are these people these updates are supposedly helping? I haven’t seen anyone come on any forum stating, “Matchmaking is back, and MCC is awesome!”. Not one thing has changed for me since 11:01 pm Central Time on Monday night.
It has helped me, i’ve gotten in over 20 games today alone. There is still some bugs though, but i’m enjoying it. People are vocal about issues, they are less vocal about successes.

They literally just got in the office on their timezone. Hence why a more detailed update will arrive later today as stated.

I’ve gone from finding literally zero games to 3 matches within 10 minutes of total searching time. Progress, but not an ideal situation. Also, after these successful matches, it’s a coin-toss as to whether I’ll find another game. Maybe I was just lucky this morning…

I’d bet some of them never went home last night, considering all they have to work through!

Man, I’m happy for you. I’m probably on the older end of the gamers, and people that frequent this site. I took vacation all of this week and so did a buddy of mine that lives across the country from me, that I don’t get to see very often. We were going to drink beer together and essentially hang out playing Halo like we did back in the day, and this release completely -Yoinked!- all our plans. I seriously want to punch the people that come on here and say we’re stupid for taking vacation for this also. Get really tired of hearing how thankful I should be for everything that 343 has done for us, when they provided a game that doesn’t work. I bought a Xbox One specifically for this game, bought the game, and took 4 days of vacation. Essentially, this game has cost me over $1,400 between the Xbone, game, and vacation time. Where is my refund for all of that?
They said “working overnight, 24/7 just to deliver what they promised”. It looks to me working less than 8hrs per day and update community when i get good sleep and full stomach.
still nothing, bunch of lies regarding updates… They’re just stalling just dont know untill when…
Not a single update for more than 12 hours js not working all night. For status update you need one guy, 20 of them were active on twitter and no one shared anything regarding progress of updates.

I have noticed a few improvements, but today’s update(s) SHOULD bring some big improvements. I have got into some matches today, but in all honesty, I’d be happy with a one day shut down for 343i to do a major overhaul
Sweet, now it’ll only take me 10~15 min for me to play 4vs2 against the friend I started the search with.

Sounds like that would have been awesome, I took off as well… However, they did not tell you to take off, nor did they tell you to buy the xbox or the game. I am upset that it is not working as well, but they are trying to fix it and they will soon enough.

That is because they keep getting flooded with complaints, leave them alone and they will fix it sooner.

I feel ya man. A buddy and me bought a xbox one just so we could halo 2 again. Had 2 days off from work to play and this crap happens. People have the right to complain because obviously this game was not tested enough at all. Too many bugs besides matchmaking.

Except they have stated they will be working day and night until the largest problems are tackled. Was that part falsely stated?

You do realize the person that should be putting out updates should have nothing to do with fixing the actual problems, right?

I feel for you and your buddy, however, you are still on vacation right? Why would you quantify your vacation time in your losses due to this game? You are still taking vacation. You or your buddy could have booked a flight to the other when you realized this was not happening and drank some beer together the old fashioned way - together. I realize that may not be possible for any number of reasons, especially with the additional cost of air travel, but regardless you are still getting that vaca time and can otherwise try to make the most of it.
That doesn’t change the fact that you are out the money for the console and the game, but they will get this sorted eventually and you and your buddy will get to play it and drink some beers like the old days. You just may have work the next morning now by then, which stinks.
Here is hoping the make some progress so we can at least have this first weekend playing before you and your friend will to go back to work. Unfortunately I have some work to do this weekend, but I will be on regardless, for better or worse. For you, your buddy, and all of us here waiting, both patiently and impatiently… I hope the wait will be worth it in the end.

Sorry, but in my mind if you are going to market a product, and offer that product for compensation, then the product should function. You don’t go to a car dealership and purchase a vehicle, only to find out reverse doesn’t work, and say, oh well at least I have drive. I’d be more forgiving if this was original Halo 2 back in 2004, when the idea of online multiplayer was brand new. 2014 when multi-player has been around for over 10 years? Not so much.
