Was put in Onyx straight away last season, made it as far as platinum one this time while also winning 7/10 games. Maybe it has something to do with medals earned, like killing sprees and multi kills?
ranking system is stupid and broken.
It balances your skill on top of your win/loss. I was worried too but i don’t see how it is broken. If you get carried, your rank will not be as high. Also, it goes off your 10 qualifying games as well obviously, so if you always win normally but lose for those games, your rank isn’t gonna be very high. My buddy won 7/10 games and got at least 15 kills a game with good k/d in swat and got Gold 6, so if you want to get higher then that you either have to win all 10 games, or work your way up throughout the season. If it gave you the highest rank right away, what incentive would you have to keep playing?

i agree with this, i played my placement games and got silver 5 in swat and gold 2 in doubles. all of my doubles games were close but my k/d wasnt amazing. swat my k/d was good but i lost half of my games so i can see how it works.
You missed the most important part of mentioning your stats- how good were the people you played against when you earned those stats? Your ranking has to do with your performance and how good the people you were playing against were. 11.1KDA vs Bronze level players is no more impressive than 1:1 vs Platinum players. And of course, winning most of your games vs bronze players doesn’t mean you’re champion level.
I feel like its much better than it was. I went from being platinum in slayer (i dont know how THAT happened) to Silver 5 this time. I’m much happier now as I feel thats about the level I belong.
Same here, I did brilliantly in my 10 games of swat (including multiple overkills, and even a 15+ killing spree which is good for me) then at the end of it all because my team had let me down in most and i didnt win most games i was placed in silver 6… such a ridiculous sytem

You didnt win most of your games in a playlist that requires team work. Think about that when grinding to rank up Lone Wolf McQuaid.
Seriously people? Before bashing the ranking system actually think before typing something so ignorant. 343 have stated before Cartographers Gift was released that they would be changing the ranking system specifically for FFA and Swat because people were being put into Onyx way too easily.
In my opinion the ranking system is fine now. Don’t be so offended when it puts you in a lower rank than you thought you were gonna be put into. It should be no problem to rank up to your desired rank if you truly believe that you should be in a higher division anyway so why the complaints?
Won all of my team arena games with a great KD ratio, got platinum. Lost half of my slayer games and went into onyx. Won all my swat games with an incredible KD and got Plat 6.
Absolutely -Yoink- kids get put into Champion, so on.
Its broken - just earn your way up.
My highest was onyx. this was in swat and slayer at the same time. however I am terrible at swat and probably deserved gold. I do think they fixed the ranking system tho and everyone should stop complaining and give them time. this game was obviously unfinished so just wait and see what happens. rushing this will make another MCC which we dont need,
The ranking system is broken in every way, I have been put a whole rank above my skill level in every game mode I’ve placed in. The game is not fun when this happens
Even if you were matched with say silver and gold people in your first few matches and you go something like 20K 0Deaths, you should start playing against much higher ranks…
After I got put into gold 6 and moved into platinum me and a couple guys kept getting paired with a group of 2 platinums, 1 diamond and champion 10. The champion guy always did terrible! yet everytime we matched him he was one step closer to champion 1!!! it was so dumb, he got carried by all other three guys every time. Guy shouldn’t even be platinum ranked.
