$1035 to unlock all cosmetics in first season

some crazy person will probably spend that too

So, buy the 1 or 2 things you want? The game is f2p, this doesn’t really surprise me. Maybe 20 being a tad high but i mean if people want that specific thibg, i mean hell, you KNOW what you’re getting.

To be honest, id rather spend 20 on one single cosmetic than the stuff EA tries to pass. You know what your getting, you know the proce, one and done, no rng. Im actuallu mostly okay.

I honestly dont think ill nab anything in the store. But if they eventually have that 1 thing i want, then okay. Ive played plenty of f2p games before.

Good point. I hated Halo 5 req packs because I never got the armor I wanted. I hate loot boxes and gacha. I would rather just buy the cosmetic I know I’m going to get, than gamble and probably not get it. Gacha better never come to Infinite.

There’s threads like this multiple times in the forum and one like this just got locked for getting out of hand.

You don’t go into a store and go “I’ll take one of everything” do you?

Still not as bad as the Gundam mobile game. :grimacing:

Realistically I do not see 99% of the people buying everything from the store.
It is a shame that so much is behind a paywall since I enjoy unlocking everything in Halo games.
I mean at least I did until Halo 5 where unlocking everything became impossible.
And now Infinite will be the second Halo game where I wont own all the armor.

I will however pick this leak to see if there is a coating and armor I’d pay for because I will pay for 1 or 2 things.

Here’s how I avoid this issue:

Select Halo Infinite Icon, launch game.
Watch boring animations.
Press A to Play - I did this.
Select Multiplayer - ignore all other selections and graphics on screen.
Select Big Team Battle - ignore all other selections and graphics on screen.
Select Play - ignore all other selections and graphics on screen.

Watch countdown, watch searching progress
Play game.
Lose.
Watch interminably long still frame with “helpful” tips at the bottom.
Then some screen gibberish about Heroes of Reach, Season 1, Challenges, blah dee frickin’ blah - ignore, push B
Player recap screen - ignore, push B
Select Play
Repeat.

This is my approach as well. The game is much more fun when your not distracted by the arbitrary “progress” and the, frankly, meaningless cosmetics (in my opinion, no need to get triggered!)
The only thing I do different is that when I have a really good game, I tend to spend some time on the carnage report in an effort to convince myself that I’m not totally garbage at the game.

But it’s not $20 on one cosmetic thing, unless that particular bundle comes with everything you want. If you want items from 3 bundles you could easily be looking at the price if a full retail game just for the cosmetics. It’s understandable why not everyone is happy with that.

I’m actually having a lot of fun with the game. I really enjoy the gameplay and think gameplay wise they have gone back to the roots of halo. I understand a lot of people don’t care about customization but I do and I think it only adds to the game. In previous games seeing people with certain armor let you know they were good at the game. I think we lost that here. But I understand a lot of people don’t care and that’s fine. Just my opinion

@Velocity_Rift don’t be shocked if 343i locks this page soon. They did it on another page for bringing up the same point about how expensive it would be to purchase everything. My guess is they don’t like seeing how much it costs. Truth hurts. Hopefully people don’t pay these ridiculous prices for stuff.

Doesn’t cost me anything. I won’t buy anything other than Game Pass.

Don’t see point of cosmetics when I can’t even see my Spartan for 95% of playing time

Dam, that is intense for those that like to collect everything. I would have thought like maybe $2-400 for a season. What are other games charging?

Players can flex their power and just not buy them. I am happy enough to shell out the 10-14 dollars for the battle pass but that is where it stops. All of the sets and cosmetics I see in the store now I see, I would not use.

I can’t wait to spend all my rent on halo infinite

Well sure, I did too, but what if in one of the older games they released DLC armor all the time that you had to buy instead of paying money for? You wouldn’t want to buy all of it just to have 100% completion. They even did that a little bit in 5, though not to this level.

My point was this is a different system, where there will eventually be lots more options (assuming they keep up with it which it very much seems they will) but you have to pay for chunks of it. I don’t like this system, personally, but I don’t think completion is really a thing anymore in this game.

If you argument is “you don’t have to buy everything” you are not understanding the complaint. Armor customization has been an incredibly integral part of the game. People enjoy playing the game and getting pieces of gear to show off what they have done in the game. Are people going to use all the armors they unlock in a game? The answer is also no. People are arguing about the principle here. We know he halo has done armor customization before and we want that back. We don’t like being nickel and dimed.

My point here is, they are going to add thousands of items over the next ten years, and not because you are expected to buy every single cosmetic in the game, in the same way that you don’t go buy all the clothes at the mall. They make cosmetics to appeal to a wide range of people, to market to specific people to fund updates and servers for a free game, not for collectors to collect everything and whine that their multimillion dollar game isn’t 200% free. I can agree that the prices are a little unrealistic and could be slashed in half, but I don’t think everything should be free

“if you are a fan of halo reach, you’ll love infinite customisation” I’m sure I would if I could actually get some armour

That’s definitely predatory. You shouldn’t be able to spend that much on one game. Mobile in full effect.
