100% Win Ratio 7.3KDA Placed into Platinum?!

Then placed Onyx for 1W - 9L in Team Arena with a 3.2KDA, Onyx 6W - 4L with a 2.8KDA in Slayer

How the -Yoink- does that even happen? 343i Ranking system is the biggest pile of -Yoink- I’ve seen… and that’s coming from someone who plays the -Yoink- out of this game, and absolutely loves it. But ranking honestly needs the biggest overhaul in this entire ecosystem of stuff.

Yeah, they don’t know what they’re doing with ranks. Never have. Bungie got it right 7 years ago, 343 can’t get it right even once with the largest budget in gaming and the ability to utilize pro players at any time. It’s sad…

I would of totally even understood Diamond being that 1 of the games I was 5 - 9… but every game at least 15 - 5
Knowing that I should be in Onyx in ever playlist is what urks me, it’s basically whoever gets to play first gets the higher CSR ranks.

I want to say, get rid of placement matches, but this is a big way to get rid of new accounts. back in the day, many lower leveled players were frustrated by Smurfs playing in their games as they moved up the ladder.

343 doesn’t seem to understand that rank is an important part of this game (like a lot of features they’ve ruined or forgotten about).

From what it sounds like the ranks are even more broken now…

yeah, definitely. When I started playing at 9pm the night before it was released, I did my matches, slaughtered people and got ranked in Onyx everything. But because I haven’t played since the update I’m getting ranked SUPER LOW.

1-50 Plx. This ones not great

I thought ranks depends on what ranks you win against, not how good your kda is?

It does. He probably just played a bunch of kids who wouldnt have been much worse playing with their feet.

Prove that you werent stomping random bronze players before you complain

You can look into his game history and see who he was playing against. Check yourself.

Oh god and he’s a champion how in the hell does that happen, first gets ranked wrongly and again. Then somehow is one of the best in the game where is the logic in this video game. Where are the rest of the hundreds to thousands of people?

True ranks are by how well u do as a team and all your win loss record kda or kd has nothing to do with it. This system was made so we work as a team. If u dont play as a team u will be put in poop ranks so tip work TOGRTHER and WIN not solo and win

I miss the early Halo 2 days when it was pretty straightfoward. Back when 30 was high, 35 was great, 40 was unheard of and anything above was circle boosters.

Lol read this,

On my main account, i rage quit the first two games of qualifying in team arena (was 15-25) with 2 losses (DNF). Got a 3 day ban. Came back today, finished 8 other games with total of 6 wins and 4 losses with 3.1 KDA and got diamond 5

On secondary account, i quit the first two games ( to test rank system), having 2 DNF games during qualifying. i finish with 5 wins and 3.2 KDA and got diamond 1

Idk, seems pretty accurate to me, as i did good against diamond/onyx players paired against me during qualifying.

So explain going 10W - 0L and getting Platinum.

You don’t seem to realise that the old ranks were messed up. You are in no way suppose to be placed in onyx right of the bat. The point is to climb the ladder, not be placed on the final to last step.

Ofcourse you would expect to be placed in diamond/onyx but it wouldn’t be a challenge to climb up. If you see people in onyx now, you mostly know for a fact that these players are pretty good.

I think destiny had a higher budget than halo. That being said I wish the ranking system was more persistent and even instead of radical. You can never tell what you are going to get tank wise.

It depends who you play, I did trash last season in SWAT so got gold. All 10 of my placements this time were against gold so even though I won 7 and had a 3 k/d I got gold 5. It’s better that you can place within divisions rather than starting at 1 but still frustrating.

The only way to “fix” this is have everyone start at Bronze.

Why is that a problem? If you keep playing and are better than platinum you should rank up again and be onyx in no time. I don’t see the problem

The point of a ranking system is to tell people how good they are as quickly as possible. It’s not a progression system. You could get to rank 50 in Halo 3 within 7 games, I think the record is. Once the system knows where you belong, it’s counter-intuitive for it to withhold that information from you, especially when this season system keeps your prior trueskill in mind.
