Just seeing if anyone else has ever encountered this.
Been playing on wireless for a very long time and finally decided to redo my internet in my house so that I am able to plug all my peripherals (Smart TV, Blu Ray, XB1) up to LAN.
Once I got everything hooked back up I ran detailed network stats check on my XB1 and the results showed 27+ down, 6 up and no latency, but it shows 100% packet loss.
Is this some kind of faulty result?
I am fully able to play matchmaking and it’s a hell of a lot better for me versus what I’ve experienced on my wireless.
When I was hooked up with my wireless connection and ran the same detailed network stats test I’d usually see around 25 down, 5 up, 1-3% latency and 0% packet loss for results.
This is a Microsoft Network issue that they dont like to speak about. But its them and their inability to fight cyber attacks… DDOS like the ones lizard squard has claimed to do on xblive cause this. I assume they are still being DDOS attacked or their work to protect from this is screwing this up. Either way. Microsoft sucks. And this is another reminder we should probably not be playing video games to begin with. Get real hobbies and skills like coding/hacking!

it might be… as is mine… we have consoles… Do you hear anything on the news about PC gaming attacks? Im considering getting back into PC gaming, I opted out to play with friends who all had xboxes and for my love of halo… but id rather just play during my “play time” and i cant do that on xbox. might have to just revert to Battlefield and Counter stike on PC, not a bad thing by any means.
After trying some of the trouble shooting on that help page and switching LAN wires around and trying different ports on my router I think I have either a problem with the wires themselves or a port problem with my router, or a combo.
After trying different ports and wires I’ve been getting different test results with 0% packet loss but like 63ms latency…that’s bad.
So, I’m going to buy me some Cat.7 ethernet cables to see what cables rated for 600mhz will do and if that doesnt solve it, I’m guessing it’s something with my router, which would give me an excuse to upgrade.

Okay, well then what’s the explanation for a result with 100% packet loss the other day and a result of 0% packet loss this morning after I switched wires and ports on my router?
And, new Cat.7 wires on cable.com are like $5 for three feet long cable…not exactly breaking the bank.
The explanation is Xbox live being poor. It’s not your hardware. if you can already get to the internet, switching cables out isn’t going to magically make one particular service (Xbox live) better, that’s not how the Internet works.
The most you can do on your end is make sure to set up port forwarding on your router for the ports that Xbox live uses. That’s it.
Just in case it isn’t obvious. Monster Power products are a scam too.
I had 100% packet loss last night and this morning 0% and I never did anything.
The problem on Microsoft side.
If u had 100% packet loss the -Yoinking!- stuff on the dashboard wouldn’t even load
Okay, dude, there’s no need for the sarcasm you’re conveying. I understand what you’re saying. I’m not trying to completely argue with you, if that’s what you feel I’m doing. Just trying to figure things out. And, again, I’m talking about spending like under $10…so I’m not sure why you think you need to draw outlandish comparisons or why you feel the need to be as aggressive as you are. I’m not suggesting that I’m going out to entirely revamp my entire network with new top of the line hardware.
And, switching ports on a router might very well make a difference if one of the ports was going bad or was damaged internally and you weren’t aware of it. Likewise, a cable could be degraded or damaged somehow. I’m not saying that they are, but it’s entirely possible and either could lend itself to poor performance.
However my cables are ancient (as is my router), old standard cat.5 stuff, not even cat.5e. Upgrading to Cat.7 would absolutely provide more bandwith to & from my modem and router and would be more reliable than what I’ve currently got. It’s like the difference between a 1000rpm hard drive vs a 8000rpm hard drive, they’re just newer & faster.
I just tried disconnecting my router & connecting my Xbox directly up to my cable modem and had no packet loss and even less latency than earlier today, so I’m getting a lot of variation with these detailed results.
I’m also well aware that Monster products are a complete scam. I’ve never bought any kind of “name” brand gimmick cable
I genuinely hope that the issue is with MS like most of you guys are saying. I’m also not going to hit myself over the head for spending less than $10 on new cables though.
For crying out loud, stop being so insecure, if you don’t believe us, google it. There are numerous hits on the subject where 100% packet loss affects many people at the same time when there are issues with Xbox Live. There are many hits that are dated within the last few days because of the recent cyber attacks and other recent issues.
You’ve had multiple people confirm that it’s purely an XBL issue and yet here you are still contemplating buying cables. Why did you ask for help if you clearly seem hell bent on buying new cables anyway regardless of what we say?
If your cables weren’t functioning correctly, you’d be having far more noticeable issues than just a packet loss message from XBL
the 100% packet loss message is purely an XBL issue on Microsoft’s end.

Sorry I ruined your night Boss. I’ll think twice before I post something that might rub an asshair of yours the wrong way in the future
