I also like to have enough self respect to not play a game when it’s clear it was never made for the players to enjoy, but to encourage you to spend money. That “its optional” crap has already been debunked to death as a cop out defense for this game.

343s only game that launched with an actual progression system was Halo 4. Every other game they have launched has launched in an unnecaptable state. They have NEVER shown themselves to be competent, much less enough to deserve blind defense and admiration.

Once again, you’re making a choice not to participate in functions you don’t agree with.
It’s not forced upon you in order to play the game.

I’m simply stating you’ve made a choice as I’ve made a choice. If it were debunked, you and I would be forced to participate in aspects of this title that we don’t want to participate in, yet here we are actively discussing that we are factually not participating in them albeit at different variations.
Normally I’d scoff or call out anecdotal evidence as such, but when everyone else around you is claiming “predatory FOMO sales tactics” and “grindy progression” ruining the game I’m sitting back, playing the gamemodes I like for free at 120fps and hoping I don’t get stuck in a high latency OC server. I’m just walking talking pwning example of someone proving that you can shake off the optional mechanics and still enjoy the gameplay.
Well if you can’t play for enjoyment or practice to get good I guess you play something else. If you haven’t unlocked all the MCC cosmetics you can play that or try and max out MCC xp system.

Shyway puts out a good amount of 4v4 map jump vids on his YouTube and Twitter handles. Not sure who to check out for advanced BTB tactics tbh. People are still kinda learning the advanced intricacies of the maps I think, so maybe you could help map out meta jumps and strats for that community

Maybe when it comes to HCE and H2… But H2A looks great… H4, H3 and Reach still look pretty good as well.
Tenrai event is on so you can work towards that via challenges.
Play the events, check the ultimate reward each week and well just ignore it apart from that. The only way the game is gonna see changes is if the player numbers drop to a worrying level.

I’m on the same boat. I hit Onyx, 100% the BP, LASO campaign done. There’s literally nothing left to do except the weekly events which for whatever reason are capped. I love Halo but playing without any sort of incentive feels lame.

I finished the Battle Pass the first week Tenrai came. Since then, I don’t really have any reason to play other than the daily login events and Tenrai, unless friends ask me to hop on.
600 matches and I’m sick and tired of the same few modes and maps, not including the agony of dealing with the servers, bugs, crashes, and unbalanced sandbox. I really truly hate playing sometimes, but it’s at least passable as fun when friends are on. If there is no event or anything I want for the weekly, I don’t play.
I always finish the weekly in one sitting, I finished the Fracture event day 1. No reason to play until Cyber Showdown, and that will be daily logins again most likely, just to artificially milk their player count. I do not want to play this game 99% of the time, but I also don’t want to miss out on these events. Truly FOMO abuse. GG 343. Nice plan.
