10 sandbox balancing and buffs 343i needs to do

I welcome discussion please share with me you’re thought and ideas.

  1. ravager :
    The ravager’s damage needs to be buffed back to 2 bursts to kill and splash radius needs to be larger.
    if the ravager becomes to strong then increases the delay between bursts.
    The charged shot is mechanically great but the plasma fire duration should be increased

  2. pulse carbine :
    The pulse carbine needs a functionality redesign, the best idea I’ve got is to have it swap between a close and long ranged mode depending on if you hip firing or zoom in. zoomed in mode could have faster bolts and no tracking while in hip fire the pulse carbine is rebalanced for close and mid range

  3. plasma pistol :
    The plasma pistols either should have its tracking buffed on the over charge shot or the over charged shot should become a small AOE on impact allowing players to aim for walls or floors and still strip shields.

  4. hydra :
    The hydra’s damage difference between the firing modes is unintuitive. both modes should be 3 shots to kill
    reduce the tacking modes initial projectile velocity having it increases as it travels allowing more time for the tracking to take effect while nerfing its close and mid range effectiveness,
    The hydra’s none tracking mode could benefit from a 10% rate of fire buff.

  5. stalker rifle :
    The stalker riffle is strong but unwieldy, it needs a buff to its ease of use.
    slightly buff the reticle size and increases the hip fire red reticle range.

  6. disruptor :
    The disrupter is great aside from its DPS, buff the rate of fire by 10%

  7. commando : ​
    The commando is strong but unreliable. id like to see the bloom greatly reduced and replaced with a strong recoil. this would return a level of skill to the gun.

  8. pulse sonar :
    greatly buff the sonar radius an pulse rate while reducing the deration of the sonar on map.

  9. thruster pack :
    The thruster should carry momentum like in halo 5.

  10. banished deployable shield wall :
    The drop wall IMO cant be buffed.
    The banished deployable shield wall as see in the campaign should become an equipment item modified to function reactively, allowing 343 to push the drop wall back to a proactive use.
    The banished deployable shield wall’s don’t have the ability to be shot through but they make up for it with much more health, allowing them to be strong reliable cover that could hang around.

Just numbering to match yours.

1: I think just a splash buff would fix this. Having both a splash and damage buff could be op. Let’s try it with just a splash buff for now.

2: Either track better, or have a alt fire where standard is a burst Plasma Rifle and alt is the tracking bullets.

3: Tracking needs a bit of a buff and give it’s disable ability back.

4: I think the hydra is perfectly fine the way it is if I’m honest.

5: Stalker is perfect, but if I was to do anything, maybe make the aiming more like the DMR, but I’d rather just keep it as is. It’s 2 to shields and 1 to the head already.

7: The recoil is already big, unless it just feels it because of the bloom, but yeah, bloom needs a debuff.

8: Just a radius buff may do the trick.

9: Agreed.

10: Could add the shock ability to the Drop Wal like in campaign, or just make it tankier and deploy quicker. It’s just so easy to take out, especially when just shooting the generator.

An additional one I’d add is change the shock weapons from disabling vehicles to just really good hurting the occupants and hardling damaging the vehicles. There’s 3 different disable vehicle items right now and there used to be 1 and 2 in 5.

The revenger is one of the weakest guns against appearances. in the flights it was a 2 burst kill and it had a usable splash radius as well. it should return to this damage value, but like i said it’d be wise to increases the delay between bursts if its grows to strong

it’s fine to have weaker weapons but the pulse carbine is next to unusable, and a functional redesign is needed, currently low tracking and slow projectiles just takes all skilled aim out of the fight and its effectively luck if you hit any bolts against a good straif.

yea i don’t see 343 giving emp back at all since 343 what bullet type roles.
a tracking buff would suffice but as a second buff option i think if the over charge was an aoe it could add more skill and strength to the gun

honestly it dealing less damage in one mode make no sense. as for the weapons over all strength it could be a little stronger

i agree its strength is great but its a little to unwieldy, so i only want to see slight increases to the hip fire red retile range and a slight retile scale buff. honestly very small buffs

it needs to have its bloom next to removed and while having a slightly stronger recoil pattern. This would add skill to the gun but more importantly it returns control to the player and removes randomness.
with how much bloom it has even if your aim is center chest you’ll miss bullets past half spread.
with no bloom, the recoil can be stronger because you’ll know as long as you can control the recoil you bullets will hit

i don’t like how long the sonar stays on the map. it should be a tool to find/reveal player locations but its to small and last so long players just avoid where its been shot.

personally believe one way shootable walls have no place in pvp, they either feel obnoxiously weak like i does now or its a slipper slow to it being unfair.
which is why id like the banished deployable shield walls added. they can have the health the drop wall isn’t allowed. they could be sturdy but fair deployable walls
