10 Reasons why Halo 4 will be AMAZING !

 1. The battle rifle is back !!! thank you 343 for making an extremely intelligent decision. The battle rifle is a very wanted gun in halo and it will most definitely have MLG back in full force. Halo reach and the DMR were awful. Revision - The DMR in H4 looks greatly improved. I will still favor the BR though.

 2. New engine, new graphics. From the vids to to the pics, it looks like eye candy to me.

 3. Promethean’s… new enemy that we know almost nothing about. Funny thing is, the ones we encounter i.e. the knights watchers and crawlers are being controlled by an even more powerful entity, even though they have a mind of their own. Which means there will be more new enemies to encounter.

 4. The concept behind: War Games. The fact that your actually a spartan aboard the unsc infinity in space. Competing against one another in a simulated holographic arena controlled by a moderator AI. That in itself is just awesome, and is a great change from what we’re used to… just “matchmaking”.

 5. A new world with all new adventures into the unknown. need I say more?

 6. A more in depth understanding of the master chief and cortana. My two favorite characters are going to be more exposed and we will know more about them.

 7. This may not be a mainstream reason BUT, in the multiplayer experience… it looks as if during each game, the effects and animations taking place make it feel like a GAME. something FUN, it has elements that make me think of hunger games (ordinance drops) similar to the sponsors who give the contestants rewards and things that give them advantages. It’s pretty cool… and in regicide the new game type when you kill the king a really sweet blue and red sort of firework effect come out of the body.

 8. SPARTAN OPS, a week to week episodic campaign, each including 5 missions bundled into seasons. This really gives players so many options and so many things to do. Campaign, spartan ops, and war games? exactly what the doctor ordered. Spartan ops really gives lovers of the campaign essentially a whole other campaign… that makes it fun with friends. Coming back each week to progress and slowly play new missions and discover more things will be a big hit.

 9. Besides the infection game type, the flood are gone. Some of you may be disappointed but I know most agree the flood were… annoying and not very entertaining.

 10. The fact that this starts a whole new story with our beloved master chief, and what great things we will come across on this next journey in the halo universe.

I am happy to see some positivness on these forms, and I agree, Halo 4 will be AWESOME!

Finally, some positivity in these forums. Halo 4 will be epic.

> I am happy to see some positivness on these forms, and I agree, Halo 4 will be AWESOME!

Thank you and yesss I am happy you both agree !! =[)

see you on Halo 4 !!!

Actually its not a new engine. Just had to correct you. halo 4 will be good.

 1. You know the DMR is in Halo 4 right?
 2. Agreed, the game looks beautiful.
 3. Yep, I’m excited. Even though we still will be fighting the Covenant again as well it’s just going to be an all out war between the UNSC/Covenant/Promethean’s.
 4. They never said the Flood were gone for good who knows we may see them again in the future. Plus, we get to play as them in Infection which is pretty exciting.

> Actually its not a new engine. Just had to correct you. halo 4 will be good.

Ahh is that so? read an article online that it was… hmm well however they achieved the graphics I commend them on their efforts because it looks ALOT better.

1.Though the BR is amazing I wouldn’t say it necessarily essential. I thought the DMR was fine.

2.Yes it does look very beautiful

 1. They do look like they’ll change up the sandbox quite a bit. You know mix things up a bit

 2. I don’t much care about that, though it’s a cool idea. I could go with or without it.

 3. No, no more needed to be said.

 4. Yes, I loved the focus on them in Halo 3. Even though the covenant was being destroyed, as well as the flood. It all seemed like a backround story. And the relationship between cortana and the chief seemed to steal the show.

 5. Yeah it looks good, though I wasn’t real open to the ordinance drops at first. I’m more than open to them now.

 6. It does look pretty good.

 7. I didn’t much like fighting them either. Though I wouldn’t mind if they made a return in a later game. Plus the Flood in infection looks amazing! I’ve been waiting for that! I’ve had that idea for a while.

 8. yes, yes indeed.

There are far more than these! But I’m sure you were just tired of typing  sooo no worries!

 1. Hahaha yes I do, it looks improved FOR SURE but I am a BR fan for life

 2. The covenant are always fun to fight, though.

 3. True… who knows but I’d rather see a new direction. Cool for infection seeing as how they are so mutated and scarier then a different colored spartan titled zombie lol.

Nov. 6th can’t come soon enough.

Hahahaha yes there is !!! but I was and figured you guys would not want to read any more than that haha. Well for all the MLG fans out there the BR is/was essential. It died in halo reach compared to the boom in halo 2 and 3. I am happy you are overall in agreement with me !! Thanks ! =)

I see your 10 and raise you 44:

54 reasons:

 1. Bleedthrough Melees have returned. You can now kill an opponent with a melee before his shields have popped

 2. Shooting a player who is sprinting will slow them down significantly

 3. Rechargeable health instead of healthpacks. This speeds up gameplay as it encourages players to rejoin skirmishes instead of searching for healthpacks.

 4. Movement speed in all lateral directions has been increased, thus emphasizing strafing.

 5. Jump height has been increased, but is not ‘floaty’ like Halo 3.

 6. Aim Assist has been toned down.

 7. Hit Markers around your reticle now indicate when your shots are actually hitting the enemy, which will assist long-range encounters.

 8. Grenade indicators now remedy the issue of grenades being difficult to see in Halo 3.

 9. Grenades do less damage and bounce more than they did in Reach.

 10. Banshee bomb fires slower and does less splash damage. Plasma Cannons were buffed and the flips were balanced. Also more durable to small arms fire.

 11. Warthog and Mongoose have better handling

 12. Ghost more durable and powerful

 13. Chainguns now have bloom to assist with accurate firing and balancing

 14. Scorpion Tank has less splash damage, slower rounds, and shells will drop over long distances.

 15. Small arms and the sniper do less damage to vehicles.

 16. Waypoints over grenades on the map allow them to be seen against contrasting surfaces (frags on black flooring, plasmas in grass).

 17. No grenade pickup from dead bodies by default encourages tactical usage and decreases grenade spam.

 18. Jetpack is slower to ascend and last a shorter time.

 19. Thruster Pack serves as a more practical and balanced replacement to Evade.

 20. Armor Lock replaced by Hardlight shield, which slows down the user and only protects them from body shots and headshots. Feet can still be targeted with grenades and so can the back.

 21. Hologram now triggers auto aim and appears red on the radar, making it more believable.

 22. Camo only generates 6 dots which move in more believable patterns. It also will not bug and jam a teammate’s radar. Dots appear blue for the user and red for the enemy.

 23. Assassination animations are faster.

 24. The Carbine is now a more accurate weapon and it is available off of spawn.

 25. The BR is now hitscan and has more predictable spread.

 26. The DMR’s bloom has been redesigned and is more controllable and predictable.

 27. The Magnum’s bloom and accuracy are easier to control

 28. The AR is more powerful than the Reach AR up close, making it a viable CQB weapon

 29. The Suppressor is a more efficient and accurate replacement for the Spiker.

 30. The Storm Rifle is a more efficient and accurate for the Plasma Rifle/Repeater.

 31. The Concussion Rifle behaves similar to the Bruteshot

 32. The Sticky Detonator improves upon the manual firing mode of the grenade launcher (though they are separate weapons).

 33. The Scattershot is unique from the Shotgun in that you can bounce it off of walls and underneath a player’s hardlight shield.

 34. Fall Damage has been nerfed from Reach, but it exists so players do not jump from high maps or air vehicles without risking their lives.

 35. The Needler is now a more viable mid-tier weapon at close, mid, and long range.

 36. The SAW is Halo’s first automatic power weapon and introduces a new dynamic to a largely 1sk portion of the sandbox.

 37. The Rocket Launcher is powerful again, but fires slower which allows players to evade them if they aren’t aimed correctly.

 38. The Sniper Rifle has more recoil and less aim assist.

 39. The Beam Rifle makes its triumphant return.

 40. Grifball is now its own gametype featuring unique changes and dynamic gameplay enhancements.

 41. Forge now highlights the object you are selecting. You also have the option to lock an object or duplicate one (or more) objects. In addition, there is now a magnet system for more accurate editing, and the pieces are more detailed but use less complex textures. There is also dynamic lighting rendered by the pieces and the environment, which will lead to more realistic looking maps. To top it off, there are 3 forge world environments with unique forging palettes and terrain.

 42. Spartan Ops introduces more replayability than Firefight by extending the Campaign and offering weekly releases. Each mission can be played co-op on any difficulty and there will be diverse locales and objectives that far exceed what a Firefight map could offer. These will also be accompanied by more cutscenes and extensions to the Halo lore.

 43. Prometheans look to be worthy adversaries (unlike several of the new Covenant additions) and will add interesting tactics and challenges to the Campaign. The AI are able to adapt to changing terrain and the player’s decisions.

 44. The Campaign once again pits us on an unknown location with nothing but our wits about us. This should recreate the wonder and mystery that the first Halo had.

 45. The player progression system is no longer solely based on ‘credits’, but rather “Spartan Points” which play a much more pivotal role in the player investment system. There’s more to the progression than just ‘participation’.

 46. Custom Loadouts eliminate AR starts on large maps.

 47. The user interface hearkens back to Halo 2, with easier to navigate menus and clear, straight-to-the-point selections and options.

 48. Trueskill will play a much larger role in matching players. We can expect more even matches between teams of similar skill. There is no real news on a ranking system yet, but one has been confirmed and it will be different from The Arena.

 49. The netcode will be more refined and better at selecting hosts and connections than Reach’s.

 50. The 5 confirmed maps are all symmetric maps, which Reach severely lacked upon release. There will also only be one remake shipping with the game, meaning the rest will be designed with Halo 4 gameplay in mind (versus trying to force AAs onto Halo 2 maps in Reach).

 51. Classic playlists on launch

 52. Flood Infection!

 53. The Sword’s lunge has been reduced but sword block is no longer in and now it will be a viable, yet balanced power weapon

 54. Cortana. 'nuff said.

> 1. The battle rifle is back !!! thank you 343 for making an extremely intelligent decision. The battle rifle is so essential to halo and it will most definitely have MLG back in full force. Halo reach and the dmr were awful.

I disagree with this… The battle Rifle isn’t essential to Halo, you can have a great Halo game with out a BR like weapon, IE, Halo CE. Also, just because the DMR in Reach was awful doesn’t mean the DMR is a awful weapon. Semi Auto weapons > Burst weapons > Full Auto Weapons.

> > 1. You know the DMR is in Halo 4 right?

 1. Yep, BR will always be my favorite to.

 2. True that, I think the only race that isn’t returning is the Brutes in Halo 4.

 3. Yeah, me to. It’s most likely a low chance of us seeing the Flood in campaign again. I could be wrong though.

Its alright. Most people don’t understand what a game engine is or what it does. I don’t even understand it as much but graphics and such can be improved with out making a new engine infact. the only halo game that has a completely new engie was halo CE every other halo games engine is halo CE’s. Confusing?

halo 4’s engine is halo reaches engine at its core but built from the ground up almost. halo reaches was halo 3’s engine at its core but built from the ground up almost ETC.

What they essentially do is take the previous games engine and strip it to its basics then build it over.

1 reason is enough

Master Chief !

Okay I totally get what your saying, the lighting/shading has a big impact on the appearance as well. Everything else is beyond my knowledge having to do with computer science programming and all of that haha. A Business Marketing major isn’t exactly the same as that =D

weird stealth, maybe I worded it wrong I didn’t mean it to be essential to make a great halo game but it is a really wanted gun by many. The DMR in halo 4 looks greatly improved so it should be better than reach’s version.

I agree. I really think 343 has out done themselves not only is the game visually pleasing but the game feels much faster and smoother. I can not simply wait for halo 4 to be released. And even more so with halo 5 and 6. I can not even imagine how they can do better after seeing/playing halo 4.
