Hi, twice in one day i’ve received a 10 minute ban for “quitting too many games” after accidental betrayals. In both instances I was playing with inexperienced players as guests. This has never happened before and so I am wondering if some sort of negative statistic has accumulated on my account that is causing this to happen. If so I would appreciate if this could reset in order to have this stop happening because its extremely irritating to pay for a service and then be barred from the service based on mistakes made by inexperienced guests. Hopefully someone can help.
You can still play the maps in Forge mode while you’re waiting for the temporary ban to expire. You could use that time to provide special training for your inexperienced guests. I further encourage you to ban your guests from using powerful weapons such as the Assault Rifle and the Spiker, as such tools of destruction tend to lead to a lot of accidental betrayals in my experience. You should try to keep a sniper rifle as your backup weapon if possible so that you can shoot your guests if they look like they are going to inadvertently betray one of your teammates.
Try your best not to betray and quit games. That’s my only advice I can really give.
And no, there’s no ‘stat’ for it. I could tell you I never got it, and you’d never know.
I heard at one point that the quit ban is imposed after you quit a certain percentage of your played games. It also counts if you lag out or are booted for betrayals. I once got quit banned five times in one day because my internet connection sucked so badly at that time. I pretty much didn’t play for the next week until our connection was fixed.
There are actually quite a few glitches with the system. It will frequently count as a quit for other players in the game if one person quits so those could have accumulated in the background and resulted in the quit-ban for those last two times you were booted.
The glitches are part of the reason you’re only given one warning and another when you are banned so you can’t really tell what’s happening.
While I don’t condone this, I have heard of people rubber-banding their controller and leaving the xbox to AFK through a ton of games to reduce the percentage of games they quit from.
pretty sure if u quit 5 - 6 games in a row u get the msg and then if u quit again u get the 10min ban, u must of betrayed a few people
When that happens, I eject my copy of Halo: Reach and replace it with my copy of Battlefield 3. I’ve heard it’s a pretty good game.
