10 mins into this update video and 343 is already massively contradicting themselves

saying you feel attacked or victimized were probably the wrong words. I just have a weird way of talking and you assummed i didnt care what you said which made me feel like the bad guy when i was just having a normal conversation.

I know we are not going to agree on things as weve had a converstion like this before. like i said 343 had poor execution for whatever reason. i dont think the reasons are that deep, I think theyre just doing what they thought was more fun and are now looking to improve. peace

Alls good. Ya weve crossed paths before. But dont think im out to argue

I do appreciate the discourse and i always feel even if we dont reach a consensus that we both leanr to better put into words what we mean to say which if you ask me is pretty damn cool.

(Edit i never assumed you didnt care rather your choice of wording inplied as much. Its inportant to remember there is no way to convey tone here. Best to say what you mean and not use hyperbole or say something that isnt what you mean because we can only replie to what is typed not what was intended.)

And i concede being very direct and particular in how i speak which often is mistaken for confrontational so dont worry i never assume and bad intent on here we all have our own way about us.

Nor do i feel we should have to come to an agreement. I certainly have a better understanding now of your perspective than i did prior and ill carry that forward.

I think my core argument boils down to I think worrying about the player winning a fight is the fun arguement isnt hurt by being more easy going has less impact on the competitve players than the reverse as the competive players always carve a niche and are by design more invested. Not that i believe that should be ignored just i dont feel it should be the core design.

thats what matchmaking is for, it should acccomodate your playstyle but changing it too much can annoy the matchmaking system which is why we need a place for chilling, a place to sweat and a place to really sweat. Thats a big reason matchmaking worked in halo 3’s social, ranked and ranked hardcore. I stuck to ranked but never touched ranked hardcore and occasionally played social to chill. I think everyone was happy.

It is a massive over correction (and complete misunderstanding) of Halo 4’s issues with the loadouts and weapon drops. They act like the only reason it wasn’t liked was because it was super balanced or e sports worthy, and now with 5 and Infinite everything has be balanced and catered to pros. It becomes more and more apparent they struggle to understand Halo; or maybe they do and what to still make it their own thing.

To a degree but thats not really a solution to the issue im trying to highlight as it does not adress the actual issue of a fundamental shift in design far as i can tell.
