I pulled the weapon damage values for Infinite not too long ago, my goal was to learn more about the game and help provide resources for players who learn with hard data. When we got the changes, I calculated the new melee values and it looks like the 10% decrease would prevent shields from breaking in one hit.
Spartans have a shield value of 140, and a health value of 90. This makes 230 overall.
Melee in Season 1 deals 154 damage. Enough to break shields and deal some damage to health due to bleedthrough.
Applying the Season 2 10% decrease leaves damage at 138.6, just under the value of full shields.
Should we expect shields not to break with a melee hit in Season 2? Or was 10% an approximation, and shields will still break as we see them now?
I’m hoping someone from 343 can pop in let us know what to expect. I hope this doesn’t cause any trouble for the developers.
