Yes, this is another tournament thread, but bare with me, this one is worth it.
It is with great pleasure that I invite any and all players to join Halo Wars 2’s 1v1 1 Year Anniversary Tournament! Here’s what you need to know.
Time and Place
This tournament will be happening this Saturday (February 24th) at 2:00 PM EST and running for several hours until all matches have been completed - If you would like to compete, but will not be able to play at certain times, accommodations can be made for you to playCompetition and Hosts
This tournament is being hosted by our Pepsi drinking friend, RTS YODA VIDS - Games will be streamed on Twitch and/Mixer (with some games making it to YouTube) - Myself, Yoda, Nakamura, and some other players will be casting these games to provide discussion and feedback about the matches being played - With currently over 80 players signed up, this will be the biggest and best tournament Halo Wars 2 has seen, with players of varying skills and abilitiesThe Prizes
No tournament is complete without prizes, and this tournament is no different - The players who place high will be gifted with rewards ranging from cash, gift cards, game codes, and other goodies - The winner of the tournament will be rewarded with a special gift from 343 themselves! - Everyone who enters the tournament (and plays) will be paced into a draw and will have a chance to win other prizes, so there’s a chance for everyone to win somethingHow to Sign up

But I am impressed that he managed to get over 80 people, If its 1s that’s gonna be a long tournament.

Not really on topic, but I was being involved in drama I didn’t care for, so I took me leave. Ja feel? Yoda asked me to post this for him, and I feel it’s a very good thing for the community, so I was happy to help.
While both those players are very good, they have been dropping games recently to other players, so who knows! Let’s let it play out and see what happens.
It’s gonna take a minute to complete the tournament, but it’ll be fun :D.

Unfortnate you don’t have a better way to broadcast/host this tournament. Myself and a few other older players would have joined had it been different circumstances. GL nonetheless.

Shout out to Solid. One of the best laid back and good play streams you can catch. It’s too bad for the HW2 community omega, BTC, and yoda (3 main groups/factions, if you will, I know of) couldn’t all combine their different strengths they each bring to really create something special within the community. But in all things, you cannot please everyone and strife is an eventuality among a competitive family. Joker, tell Yoda he needs to play Highway to the Danger Zone again and PM me an email I can donate too. If any omega is reading and prizes are given in your tournament, do the same.

I agree, it is unfortunate the three factions, as you call them, could not get along better and put their resources/assets together to make something truly spectacular. That would be amazing if something like that could be done, but nonetheless, this is where we are. I believe this tournament will be great for the game and the community, so I am happy to support it and help out.

We actually did try that. His presence in Omega lasted less than 24 hours because Yoda would not stop belittling and exploding on anyone that had a difference of opinion. If you are not a top 10 player than you weren’t worth the effort it took to play nice. We tried to make amends and even let him stream a tournament. However, the personalization on his twitch stream tarnished the footage of our tournaments, and when we asked him to pause them for only the Omega matches he denied our request and that’s that. Or so we thought.
A few days later, he goes and sets up a tournament at the exact same time date that we have had since November: Saturday 2pm EST. It’s a move to directly attack the community we’ve been building up. Unlike Yoda, who has been permanently banned from Waypoint alongside some of his frequent collaborators, the best and most productive members of the community reside at Omega Team. We even have a place for the developers so that players can have direct conversations with them.
I honestly feel bad for those that enter his tournament. He doesn’t have the logistics in place to handle such an influx of players. He has maybe 2 helpers with him, while Omega has been refining our process and expanding our team for months now. There’s a chance it won’t top the Hindenburg, but his tournament will be quite the spectacle nonetheless.
