Okay so I have no idea wtf just happened but I entered into a ranked match and I guess my entire team quit on me? 1 v 4 ctf, total BS.
No big deal. I’ll take my loss real quick. Got about 4 kills, died 7 times. Got the hell teabagged out of me by a guy using rockets, whatever. When the game is over, my rank points drop by ALMOST HALF. WTF??? Can someone please explain to me how any of this is fair or makes sense? Also I’m Plat 1 in case anyone is wondering.
I can’t say why they left, but it’s just another example of why there needs to be a rejoin, match warmup period, and/or surrender function added to the game in some capacity.
Being on the losing side of a one sided situation with no recourse but to slog through a potential entire match is a terrible way to experience this game.
It sucks that you started off with no teammates, but that’s one of the risks when you choose to let the AI matchmaker pick your teammates instead of picking them yourself.
I may have been overly aggresive, but I just don’t think this is the right thread for asking for a surrender button. I do think it would be good though. Again sorry for being so blunt
Surround vote would be nice for matches that aren’t worth continuing so that people can go on with their lives. Maybe even add that if you do it you lose a little less status from the loss.
The only problem is that people might hastely make this decision when it’s still possible for them to actually win too. But that could be part of the learning curve too to playing ranked matches… Knowing when to con deed and when not too.
All good dude absolutely no hard feelings. You’re allowed to disagree and hold different stances, I’m not going to fault you for anything of the sort
Let me elaborate myself then. As an example, in CSGO, the surrender option becomes available after a player who leaves either cancels the reconnect option or times out on reconnecting to a match. The team can initiate a vote to surrender a match, simply majority decides the outcome. It allows the team to decide whether they can pull a victory off or end it so everyone can just move on.
Especially in situations as @CrimsonPatri0t described, the match can be drawn out unnecessarily (fortunately not in his case) or depending on the gamemode drag on due to the nature of the mode. A surrender option could also factor in the fact he lost 3 teammates before the match started and not penalize him nearly as harshly.
As for a warmup/rejoin feature, a short warmup round ensures that all players are connected before the match actually begins officially. If players don’t connect, then the match is cancelled. Rejoin merely allows players who dropped the match in some capacity to rejoin so the team could potentially recover.
I might be pushing an agenda honestly, but situations like these highlight the need for features like this.
