#1 Thing You'd Change

I see a lot of complaint threads here as I’m sure everyone does.

Now I don’t hate Halo 4 like a lot of people here, that doesn’t mean however that I think it’s perfect.

I was just wondering the #1 thing you would change if you had to pick just 1.

For me it would be a 4-Shot BR. I was tempted to say Personal Ordinance toned down somehow but thinking about it. I’d rather have a 4-Shot BR because Throwdown with a 4-shot BR would be the most awesome thing since Halo 2!

1# Revert Halo 4’s engine back to Halo 3’s or 2’s engine.

CQB armor, or a whole specialisation for it.

They were supposed to cater to playstyles but apparently Pioneer, Tracker and Engirneer are more important than that.

We don’t even need a new suppport upgrade. Dextarity would suffice.

They got right it with alot of other stuff,

Rouge-Sniper

Pathfinder-Gunner

Operator-Driver

Go back to a classic area style game

What would I change? Tough choice between two things, one being the way player positions are networked (kind of atrocious when just a single player in a group can lag around and cheat), but I guess it goes to the fact that you can’t turn off your own assassinations. I’m fine with folks doing it to me but I hate it when I get launched into an animation just to get myself killed or lose a kill I was after when I really just wanted to beat the guy down. Kind of hard to avoid sometimes; I wish the window between “this is a tap” and “this is a hold” was like three frames bigger.

That’s a tough one, there is no real major problem that ruins Halo 4, it all sorts of feeds into itself.

For example, Flinch makes the DMR even more over powered than it already is which leads to players getting their ordinances faster which leads to more power weapons on the map which leads to a shorter despawn time and ruins vehicle combat at the same time as everyone has a power weapon.

See what I’m saying?

I love the game! However if I had to change something, I would nerf the DMR.

Tough choice: nerfing DMR or fixing frame rate issues on split screen.

Nothing.

Games are never perfect.

I am satisfied with how Halo 4 turned out. This does not mean that I am blind to its flaws.

What I look for is new ideas being explored in Halo 5.

“Classes” have fixed AR and pistol (BR and DMR are power weapons for pick up and suited for the map being played on [so they are never on the same map]) and a choice of acceptable AA’s (replace Active-camo with regeneration field and Promethian vision with Auto-sentry).

I like having a choice to better work as a team. These weapons and AA’s would hopefully promote competitive teamwork rather than self-centered CoD style gameplay.

There is already 4 shot br kill settings, search for the fileshare of HS Ramirez. It has all the settings and maps on it. They are called TopMid settings and they are the professional european settings used at lan events by the top players.

OP here again. Honestly with the new backend weapon tuning they are able to change a weapon on a playlist basis they should make the BR in Throwdown a 4-shot. That alone would be amazing.

A 4 shot Br is a bad idea… You would just take an overpowered DMR and trade places with BR. The BR would be sooo over powered then… Lets just shoot for balance and scale down the DMR instead of the 4 shot BR.

Thing is Scaling down the DMR means slower kill times all around. This game needs faster kill times. Halo 2 had perfect kill times. 3 and reach were too slow and CE was almost perfect but 3 shot pistol was a bit fast (hard to do consistently though unless a pro).

Also in a game with so many 1sk power weapons on map through PO starting weapons could definitely use faster Kill times.

Custom options and gametypes (that includes forge).

Why?

Because after that happens, there will be tons of incredible forge maps (not that there aren’t any now) and hundreds of good gametypes to play.

Those can then be ported to matchmaking, and we can actually have Arena Slayer playlists.

I just hate the BR, I’ve never liked it. So i would still just rather have a balanced DMR and a balanced Br too.

DMR, nerf it or boost the other weapons.

You do realize that a game engine has nothing to do with gameplay right.

This. But I have a feeling that doesn’t count as “one thing.” If it does than cool, if it doesn’t, than the removal or ordnance.
