The frustrating moments in video games are not when one is out-matched or out-classed, but rather when he loses to systems beyond his control. Spawning in Free-For-All is horrendously unfair. Getting the drop on your opponent in combat is vital to victory in this game. However, more often than not in Halo 5 I will spawn with somebody behind me or outside of my visuals immediately shooting. Death comes too quickly to escape; sprinting only makes you easier to kill.
Regardless of the spawning being unfair, here is the real problem: there are too many players in Free For All.
By reducing the amount of players to 6, there will be less chance to be spotted off spawn. There will be less getting caught between cross-fire from two people one can’t even see before he has taken a single step. Through this reduction, outcome luck is reduced and more skillful players will be rewarded.
I want Free-For-All to become more fair. I find the lone-wolf gametype to be that which boys become men; where skills are honed. A player cannot hope to improve in a gametype so dependent on luck.
