1 Hour of Halo 5: Guardians Beta Gameplay.

Greenskull put together all his Halo 5: Guardians Beta gameplay into one video that’s one hour long, I thought I might put the video here for people who maybe haven’t seen it.

I have seen most of this footage already but after watching it again I’m noticed a few things I would like to give feedback for 343 one is with t the audio hit markers are somewhat of a distracting sound can’t really hear a lot of the gunfire around you and when you pick up a weapon it just has the weapons name when you pick up a weapon past Halo games have an image when you walk over a weapon which is very helpful and quicker to understand not like I can’t read just it the image is just easier I hope they fix that but that’s my feedback on the beta are now.

Good points there, I didn’t realise there was no picture anymore, I hope they change that too. One thing I’ve noticed with the audio is there’s a horrible sound that occurs when your shields are low; high pitch bleeping sound. It’s really annoying!

I hope they redo Jeff’s announcing. It’s too over-the-top for me. And some of the things that get announced are distracting . . . there are simply too many announcements now.

Other than that, looks pretty sweet. Since thruster was by far my favorite AA from H4 (and the only AA I hoped they retained), I’m quite pleased that it’s standard now, with updated utility. Disappointed that sprint is there . . . but happy that PoD is gone.

I guess the announcing is sort of over-the-top, in Halo 4 the way Jeff said ‘‘Road Trip!’’ was funny but now it’s went too far I guess.

They should go back the more serious “announcer” Not a fan of the Halo 4, Halo 2 Anniversary, or Halo 5 announcer.

The BR needs to be changed back to its original scope and sound. It doesn’t even look or sound like it’s a 3 round burst anymore.

Sniper needs remolded, don’t need a toaster oven on a barrel.

I actually think the only thing bugging me is the scopes on the sniper and DMR.

Jeff doesn’t bug me, callout’s don’t bug me. The shield beep seems less obnoxious to me than previous implementations. New abilities don’t seem to be dominating gameplay.

The red dot on the BR doesn’t make you want to just rip you’re hair out?

No. I never liked the BR. What it did to the halo sandbox in h2 made me rip my hair out. The pistol in CE may have been ‘overpowered’ but the rest of the sandbox had its uses compared to the plethora of mostly pointless trap options h2 had. To boot I always thought it looked like a cheap plastic toy and maybe fit for call of duty. The gun just never jived with me.

For some reason I liked the DMR though, for reasons I don’t quite understand. It’s new scope I find looks terrible.

This is the first BR that I genuinely like. The different scopes on the BR and DMR help differentiate their appearances and make their roles more clear. I understand I’m not the common halo fan however.

Gameplay looks quite fun and definitely more fun than Reach and H4 but I cannot say I’ve seen “next gen arena gameplay” in it, in the sense of an actual innovation of the old arena concept, what is a bummer.
Especially the “arena maps” shown so far do not excite me at all.

Who knows what is waiting outside of arena, which has been said to be just a small part of H5’s multiplayer. I actually wouldn’t be surprised to see a readjusted Infinity as well in the final game, perhaps even fused with BTB.

I couldn’t finish it watching it looks bad . I understand advancing halo is necessary but this is way too much the population will drop fast .I have no plans on getting it I want to play Halo not this

Guess I’ll voice my thoughts:


~Do I really need to be told what slayer or any gametype is? maybe for the first time playing that gametype that would be cool but really, if your playing Halo you should know its gametypes and what to do in them. You sure you don’t want Jeff to go through a half hour tip session on the basic points of Slayer too? actually I wouldn’t mind that do that.

~The intros are kind of uneeded but theres not anyway they are getting rid of them. so I’ll have to get used to it, just gonna miss being able to take out that last opponent during the victory screen. but the S4’s just remind me of dudebros now, buncha’ frat bois that dominated their MLG matches and are gonna have a deworito chugging party after wards. these are supposed to be the defenders of Earth and her colonies?! Jeez I might as well surrender to the Neo-Covenant now.

~The low drumbeat music doesn’t need to go throughout the whole match, I’d like it how firefight did it, plays for the first minute stops then starts up near the end that’d be nice.

~sigh ADS, I’ve made my peace with it but I’m gonna miss the classic Halo zoom. maybe theres a way to combine the 2 I don’t know…

~Spartan Abilities I got no comments about, just so long as I’m not pulling off mortal combat levels of controller button pressing. also please let the Auto Sentry turret armor ability be in in some way its a guilty pleasure to use even if it was cheap (maybe as a power up? speaking of which whats gonna happen to Speed and Strength Boost?).

~The voices neeeeeed to be cut back, I don’t need 4 reminders that a heavy weapon is coming in 10, 20, 30, whatever seconds. and the metal announcements, god dang I don’t think they will bug me that theirs Soo many metals for doing basic things if they would just not announce them every second. and Jeff, buddy, gotta tone down on the caffeine at your age its not good for you. :wink:

~Why do the spartans sound like they have metal boxes on their feet? think it bugs me more then H4’s did. Also Glass, why does it sound like I’m shooting glass?! that high pitched “Ting!” sound effect, ugh please don’t let that be in the final. in fact I hope none of these sound effects are in the final, we don’t need another million dollar SFX budget getting blown away on yet ANOTHER sound effect change. just mash H2A with H4’s and I’ll be fine with that. I really just think that at this point the 343i developers change the sound effects in every game just as an excuse to go shoot guns at their shooting range, wouldn’t blame them either have you ever fired an AR or sniper rifle IRL? its pretty fun.

~Sprint, while I really don’t give 2 darns if its in the game or not, just looks weird with those running animations esp. with the pistol, what am I doing running high school track & field or fighting in a space station/alien planet?. Go back to Halo 4’s because theirs something not right with that running animation.

~So this space station level in the second match, if we say use a game type thats not breakout are we still gonna be gravlift launch into battle or are we just gonna spawn? I’m just wondering if thats just gonna be exclusive to that gametype or everytime we use that map no matter what.

~How come the shielding goes down soo fricken fast? really it just looks like H1 gameplay with pistols the way the shields go down in an instant give the shields some buff to them!

~Please make Kill-Cams how they were in Halo 4, just specific to the game type. I know normal 4v4 team and lone wolf slayer had kill cams but I won’t need them in every game type.

~So is this Prophet’s Potato Sword gonna be in all maps or exclusive to this one? because I don’t want to lose my awesome looking Blue Energy sword (now in Red, thanks for that btw! love the reference to Headhunters) to something I bake in a microwave.


Think thats it for now, otherwise I’m good. but I’m hoping for a “Classic Halo” gametype where its just straight Halo gameplay without the Halo 5 adage.

Your welcome, even though I don’t come here much (I’m actually a resident from Halo.Bungie.Org) I figured this was pretty much the best place to give feedback to. I’m sure 343i is gonna be peaking at this thread every now and again for our thoughts on this, this is the first real hour long footage we have got on Halo 5 afterall. we can get a real good idea on what the beta gameplay is gonna be like out of all this.

Bottom line: I’ll play the beta no doubt but my feed back will probably be the same 'cept some psychics feedback as well.

The game mode where power weapons spawn in announced made my eyes bleed. All I can see are angry kids team killing the person who managed to snag that weapon.
