I don’t know if most of you remember, but 1 Flag CTF was a Game Mode where one team would be set on Offense and Defense, respectively. Then, they’d switch after a round of x amount of minutes.
This game mode was huge on maps like Coagulation, Headlong, Zanzibar, and Terminal.
It was personally one of my favorite game modes, as it creates plenty of strategy.
How do you guys remember 1 Flag CTF, and would you like to see it again?
I do remember 1-flag CTF and 1-bomb assault back from the early Halo days. I actually was looking to see if there is a way it can be set up via forge and work out a asymmetric BTB variant of those old modes on custom maps. I’ve been trying to gauge community interest in this idea to see if we can’t get a consolidated thread to start organizing maps in, since there would need to be several viable maps before 343 could possibly consider adding it into BTB rotation.
I miss the one flag/one bomb game types. Some of my favorite memories from Halo 2 were Epic bomb arms on Zanzibar when the enemy gets over confident and leaves their base to spawn kill. Lot’s of fun.
I think they need to switch up the order of how the rounds play out. It should be Red Offense, blue offense, blue offense, red offense then have a tie break round where offense is randomized.
Yes I loved 1 Flag CTF. I also would like them to bring back BTB Assault game types. Even though Reach really was not a great experience as far as matchmaking went, I had some great times playing BTB CTF and Assault with friends. Especially trying to carry the flag/bomb holder on top of a Falcon and flying them across the map without them falling off/being chopped up by the blades.
I would love to see it make it’s rightful return!

Do you have a link to a video so I can view it? Preferably one with commentary? That way I can acquire the experience of the players/pros of this game type.
it would be really cool to have that in halo 5. I would also like to see capture the flag be a standard playlist.

Yeah I know but I think it would be great if it was a playlist for Arena or put into BTB
