i am glad it is not back i hated the system so badly as i would play many matches of team slayer and whatnot to rank up only to be burdened to get my highest skill up playing these boring -Yoink- ranked matches. it would be good if they added it in but made it optional.

Well, it should be back soon. The 1-50 rank is why I played Halo 2 for almost forever.
Logic suggests that someone who dislikes ranks would play social while ranked fans play ranked.
Instead, people who liked ranks are left in the cold.

This, but with all the changes in Halo 4 from the past games I don’t see ranked returning unless Halo 5 goes more to the game’s roots.

But…but they aren’t gone.
De ranking doesn’t happen because it’s impossible to de-rank in this games seeing that you get about 2000 points for just being there. Even though you don’t have “De-rankers” you still have people that sabotage your team for poops and giggles.
People still claim Lag Switching is still around but I don’t know about that
Controller Mods are still around. People are also using a keyboard and mouse on H4.

Okay just because you couldn’t level up because you weren’t good enough doesn’t mean that the ranking system was “rubbish”
Progressive rank should not be in this game either, because, after all, it encourages bragging, boosting, cheating, and account selling.

I disagree, you could get a playlist 5 star general very easily in social playlists…
You not advancing your highest skill to 50 did not mess up game play. Level 50’s did not get better perks or armor just for being a 50. Ranks were there to divide people according to their skill level that’s it. You were not obligated to play ranked or get a 50.

being “good enough” was never in the statement and has nothing to do with it and you shouldn’t just jump to false conclusions the point is that you should not be forced to play boring -Yoink- ranked to progress in rank.
